A cellular communication antenna has a base with a length that exceeds its width and an inside surface with internal mounts for a plurality of electrical components that generate heat when in operation. A top encapsulates the electrical components and incorporates a radome. A plurality of fins are mounted on the outside surface of the base. They may be non-parallel with the length of the base. They may all be substantially the same length. They are further constructed and arranged to be in thermal communication with the electrical components such that heat generated by the electrical components is dissipated by the fins. Each fin may be in thermally conductive communication with more than one electrical component.

A Master Antenna Controller System is provided. In one example, the Master Antenna Controller System comprises a handheld wireless device and a RET Master. The handheld wireless device may comprise an Android OS or iOS based smartphone or tablet that includes Wi-Fi capabilities communications capabilities. The RET Master may provide full RET control based on the AISG 1.1 and 2.0 standards and communicate with the handheld wireless device via a wireless access point, such as a Wi-Fi server. The combination may be configured to provide extensive, screen-guided, intuitive RET diagnostics functionality. The RET Master itself may also include multiple different pre-defined tests (e.g. test one actuator, test one RET cable, test AISG signal from TMA) and also some standard electrical tests, e.g. measuring voltage, current etc. Additional higher-level functions may be provided on an Application on the handheld wireless device and communicated to the RET Master wirelessly or by USB connection.

A panel antenna having an enclosure, an internal cover, one or more micro radios and RF modules, and a radome is provided. The enclosure may include a rectangular rear panel, side walls with an interior surface to mount micro radios and an external surface to receive heat sinks, and a hinged front cover providing an internal cover. The internal cover may also have a plurality of RF radiating modules fastened thereto. The internal cover may also provide environmental sealing and electromagnetic shielding. The plurality of micro radios are located inside the cavity of the enclosure, and each micro radio is coupled to an RF radiating module. The micro radios may be mounted inside the enclosure on the side walls. The radome encloses the RF radiating modules. The radome may be mounted to the internal seal. Additionally, the panel antenna may further include a heat sink mounted on an exterior side of the rear panel. The heat sink on the rear panel may dissipate heat from additional active electronics, such as a communications hub or calibration radio. The micro radios and active electronics may be mounted such that the heat sinks dissipate heat generated by the micro radios.

A Master Antenna Controller is provided comprising a RET Master which may replace several devices, provide full RET control based on the AISG 1.1 and 2.0 standards, provide extensive, screen-guided, intuitive RET diagnostics functionality, and provide an alignment tool free from the problems of magnetic deviation and cumbersome differential GPS antennae. The RET diagnostics functionality may include measurements of voltage, current, and AISG protocol commands. The RET Master may also include multiple different pre-defined tests (e.g. test one actuator, test one RET cable, test AISG signal from TMA) and also some standard electrical tests, e.g. measuring voltage, current etc. Users will be guided on the screen about how to test and what steps to do and the software will guide the user through several steps for an easy and quick trouble-shooting process.
