An assembly for a gas turbine engine includes a first casing, a second casing, and struts extending from the first casing to support the second casing. The assembly further includes a fairing and a multi-piece heat shield assembly. The fairing is disposed between the first casing and the second casing and around each of the struts. The multi-piece heat shield assembly includes a first shield extending between the first casing and the fairing, and a second shield extending between the fairing and the first casing. The multi-piece heat shield assembly further includes a third shield extending between the fairing and the second casing, and fourth and fifth heat shields extending from the third heat shield between the fairing and each of the struts.

A seal plate for a gas turbine engine includes an annular wall provided about an axis and extending between first and second ends that are radially spaced from one another with respect to the axis. The first end includes an axially extending pilot. The second end includes an axially extending flange and an adjacent annular seal seat. The wall includes a portion between the first and second ends that extend substantially in the axial direction and is configured to permit the second end to move axially relative to the first end in response to thermal growth.

A gas turbine engine includes a casing, a fairing, and a heat shield. The fairing is annularly shaped and disposed adjacent the casing. The heat shield is connected to the casing and includes a first portion and a second portion. The first portion is generally cylindrically shaped and extends between the fairing and the casing and the second portion extends generally radially away from the casing and the first portion toward the fairing.

A turbine exhaust case comprises a frame, a fairing, a heat shield and a mechanical linkage. The frame comprises an outer ring, an inner ring, and a plurality of struts joining the outer ring and the inner ring. The fairing comprising a ring-strut-ring structure disposed within the frame. The heat shield is disposed between the frame and the fairing. The mechanical linkage couples the heat shield to the fairing. In one embodiment, the heat shield comprises a multi-piece heat shield that inhibits heat transfer between the frame and the fairing. In various embodiments, the mechanical linkage comprises a slip joint or a fixed joint for coupling the heat shield to the fairing.

A gas turbine engine includes an engine static structure. A fairing is supported relative to the engine static structure and configured to provide a flow path surface of a flow path extending in an axial direction. A seal plate has first and second ends radially spaced from one another with respect to the axial direction. The first end is operatively secured to the engine static structure. The second end is configured to seal relative to the fairing. The seal plate includes a portion between the first and second ends that extends substantially in the axial direction and configured to permit the second end to move away from the fairing in the axial direction relative to the first end in response to thermal growth.

An assembly for a gas turbine engine includes a first casing, a fairing, and a multi-piece heat shield assembly. The fairing is disposed adjacent the first casing. The multi-piece heat shield assembly includes a first shield mounted to the first casing and extending between the first casing and the fairing, and a second shield mounted to the fairing and extending between the fairing and the first casing.

A multi-ply finger seal with a first ply that is subject to a first amount of deflection during operation of the gas turbine engine and a second ply that is subject to a second amount of deflection during operation of the gas turbine engine. The first amount of deflection of the first ply differs from the second amount of deflection of the second ply. The differing amounts of deflection can result from the first ply and second ply being constructed from materials that have different coefficients of thermal expansion. Additionally or alternatively, the first ply can have a stiffness that differs from the stiffness of the second ply.

An assembly for a gas turbine engine includes a first component, a second component, and a first mount. The first mount includes an annular body that is connected to the first component and a plurality of circumferentially spaced tabs extending from the body. The tabs are connected to the second component and are deflectable to allow the second component to move relative to the first component.

A gas turbine engine assembly includes a first module, a second module rotatable about a center line of the gas turbine engine and fluidly coupled with the first module, and a multi-purpose seal support. The multi-purpose seal support includes an aft end secured to the first module, and a forward end disposed proximate the second module. An assembly for a gas turbine engine includes a strut and a heat shield. The heat shield is disposed adjacent the strut and the heat shield and is adapted to contain a cooling air flow that passes along first cavity between the heat shield and the strut.

A turbine exhaust case employed in an industrial gas turbine engine includes a frame, a fairing and a heat shield. The frame includes an outer ring, an inner ring, and struts connected between the outer ring and the inner ring. The fairing includes a fairing outer ring, a fairing inner ring, and fairing struts connected between the fairing outer ring and the fairing inner ring. The heat shield is located between the frame outer ring and the fairing outer ring and provides a thermal barrier between the fairing outer ring and the frame outer ring, wherein the heat shield includes an aft portion having a flange that interfaces with the frame outer ring to form an air dam that directs cooling airflow forward along the frame outer ring within an outer diameter cavity formed between the frame outer ring and the heat shield.

A gas turbine engine assembly includes a second module connected axially to a first module along a joint, and an annular cavity defined between the first module and the second module. The seal assembly is disposed proximate the cavity, and includes a seal support ring, a first finger seal, and a second finger seal. The support ring has a backing portion secured to a radial wall of to the first module, and a first seal land extending axially into the cavity away from the first module. The first finger seal has a free end adapted to contact an inner side of the first seal land. The second finger seal is adapted to seal a radially outer portion of the annular cavity.

A gas turbine engine includes a casing, a probe, and a fairing. The probe extends through the casing and the fairing is disposed within the casing. The fairing is engaged by the probe to prevent circumferential movement of the fairing relative to the casing.

An assembly includes a gas turbine engine component and a plate. The plate is spaced from a surface of the component and generally conforms to the shape of the surface. The plate and component form a passageway that allows for passage of a secondary gas flow between the component and the plate.
