Systems and methods presented herein generally relate to advanced fishing of downhole cables, for example, using camera assemblies to monitor the relative position of a fishing tool with respect to cable wire in substantially real time. For example, systems and methods presented herein include a fishing tool that includes a body portion having a plurality of wire grabbing elements extending therefrom. The wire grabbing elements are configured to penetrate and latch onto cable wire disposed within a borehole of an oil and gas well system. The fishing tool also includes one or more camera assemblies configured to capture images downhole with respect to the fishing tool within the borehole.

Systems and methods for advanced fishing of downhole cable wire

A mechanical service tool that may include one or more anchors, a cutter, a communication and control system, and one or more sensors, as well as methods for operating the mechanical service tool, are provided. The one or more anchors may extend radially from the mechanical service tool and the cutter may move relative to the mechanical service tool. The cutter may include a drilling bit. The communication and control system may obtain remote commands that control the cutter, the one or more anchors, or both. The one or more sensors may detect operational conditions of the mechanical service tool and may be operatively coupled to the communication and control system.

Systems and methods for downhole service tools

Examples described herein include systems and methods associated with a mechanical service tool. In one example, the service tool includes a power jar, an accelerator, and a linear actuator. The accelerator can be coupled to the power jar and provide assistance to the power jar. The linear actuator can be coupled to the accelerator and configured such to pull the accelerator spring within the accelerator with a force sufficient to fire the power jar. When the power jar is in a released state, the linear actuator can also be used to push or pull the entire accelerator and power jar assembly, which in turn can push or pull the target object within the wellbore. The linear actuator can also be used to move the power jar from a released state to a set state.

Downhole tool for jarring

An embodiment of a method of deploying a cable into a wellbore penetrating a subterranean formation comprises providing a cable, wherein the cable comprises at least one insulated conductor, at least one armor wire layer surrounding the insulated conductor, a polymeric material disposed in interstitial spaces formed between armor wires forming the at least one armor wire layer, and interstitial spaces formed between the at least one armor wire layer and insulated conductor, the polymeric material forming a continuously bonded layer which separates and encapsulates the armor wires forming the at least one armor wire layer, and whereby the polymeric material is extended to form a smooth polymeric jacket around the at least one armor wire layer, introducing the cable into a wellbore and performing at least one operation in the wellbore utilizing the cable.
