A heat exchanger includes a plurality of longitudinally-extending first channels and a plurality of second channels fluidly isolated from the plurality of first channels. Each first channels includes a plurality of spiraling internal fins and a plurality of external fins. The internal fins extend from and are integrally formed with the internal walls of the first channel. The external fins connect extend from and are integrally formed with the external walls of the first channels, connecting channels together. The plurality of second channels is defined in part by external walls of the plurality of first channels and the plurality of external fins.

A gas turbine engine article includes a silicon-containing ceramic wall that has an external combustion gaspath side and an internal side that borders a cooling air cavity. The external combustion gaspath side has an associated combustion gas flow direction there along. An array of cooling holes extends through the silicon-containing ceramic wall and connects the internal side with the external combustion gaspath side. The cooling holes are oriented to discharge cooling air to the external gaspath side in a direction counter to the combustion gas flow direction.

An attritable engine includes an engine case, which includes an outer wall and a fuel rail integral with the outer wall. The fuel rail includes a fuel line integral with the outer wall, a fuel ring configured to receive fuel from the fuel line, and an injector throat configured to receive aerated fuel from the fuel ring. The engine case includes counter distortion webbing defining the injector throat and is integral with the fuel rail and the outer wall. The engine case includes a combustion chamber configured to receive fuel from the injector throat.

A support structure may be coupled to the first structure at a first attachment location and to the second structure at a second attachment location. An airfoil includes an airfoil section that has an airfoil wall that surrounds a cavity. The airfoil wall includes an exterior monolithic ceramic shell and an interior CMC liner that has CMC plies. An outermost ply of the CMC plies forms tabs that are raised from an underlying ply so as to define a slot. The exterior monolithic ceramic shell includes an underlapping shell piece and an overlapping shell piece. The underlapping shell piece has a portion disposed in the slot and bonded with the tabs. The overlapping shell piece extends over the tabs and is bonded to the tabs. There are channels bounded by adjacent ones of the tabs, the underlapping shell piece, and the overlapping shell piece. Channel orifices through the CMC liner connect the cavity and the channels.

An airfoil includes an airfoil body that has a trailing edge region. The trailing edge region includes first and second monolithic ceramic exterior walls, a flow discharge passage between the first and second monolithic ceramic exterior walls, a ceramic matrix composite (CMC) liner at least a portion of which is disposed in the flow discharge passage between the first and second monolithic ceramic exterior walls, and an array of pedestals disposed in the flow discharge passage. Each of the flow guides bridges the CMC liner and at least one of the first and second monolithic ceramic exterior walls.

A turbine portion is formed and a compressor portion is integrally formed with the turbine portion. A shaft portion is integrally formed with the compressor portion. An assembly for use in an attritable engine includes a hub and a blade. The hub is configured to rotate about a centerline axis passing through a center of the hub and is formed with a first type of layer-by-layer additive manufacturing process. The blade is connected to and extends radially outward from the hub. The blade is formed with a second type of layer-by-layer additive manufacturing process that is different than the first layer-by-layer additive manufacturing process. The hub and the blade are integrally formed together as a single piece of material with a layer-by-layer additive manufacturing process. The blade includes a root of a first material, a platform connected to the root, an airfoil connected to and extending from the platform, and a tip connected on a distal end of the airfoil opposite from the root. The platform includes a material that is different from the first.

A component for a gas turbine engine is disclosed. In various embodiments, the component includes a diffuser ring, a combustor and a spring element connecting the diffuser ring to the combustor.
