An asymmetric vane assembly includes a high count vane section including a first plurality of vanes oriented in a first position. The asymmetric vane assembly also includes a low count vane section including a second plurality of vanes oriented in a second position, a total number of vanes in the first plurality of vanes being greater than a total number of vanes in the second plurality of vanes, and each vane of the high count vane section and each vane of the low count vane section having substantially similar internal core geometry.

Asymmetric vane assembly

A low pressure turbine engine component for use in an engine, for propelling a vehicle such as an aircraft is formed by a disk portion and a plurality of low pressure turbine blades extending outwardly from the disk portion. Each of the low pressure turbine blades has an airfoil portion with an axial chord length and a trailing edge. The low pressure turbine blades are spaced apart so that there is a pitch-to-chord ratio greater than 1.4, wherein the pitch is a distance between the trailing edges of adjacent ones of the low pressure turbine blades and the chord is the axial chord length of the blades.

High pitch-to-chord turbine airfoils

A gas turbine engine includes first and second stages having a rotational axis. A circumferential array of airfoils is arranged axially between the first stage and the second stage. At least one of the airfoils have a curvature provided equidistantly between pressure and suction sides. The airfoils extend from a leading edge to a trailing edge at a midspan plane along the airfoil. An angle is defined between first and second lines respectively tangent to the intersection of the midspan plane and the curvature at airfoil leading and trailing edges. The angle is equal to or greater than about 10&#xb0;.

Gas turbine engine mid turbine frame with flow turning features

A gas turbine engine includes first and second stages having a rotational axis. A mid turbine frame is arranged axially between the first and second stages. The mid turbine frame includes a circumferential array of airfoils, and the airfoils each have a curvature provided equidistantly between pressure and suction sides. The airfoils extend from a leading edge to a trailing edge at a midspan plane along the airfoil. An angle is defined between first and second lines respectively tangent to the intersection of the plane and the curvature at airfoil leading and trailing edges.
