A flow restrictor includes a first flowbody defining a first end portion, a second end portion opposite the first end portion and an orifice between the first end portion and the second end portion. The first end portion defines a plurality of first slots, and the second end portion defines a counterbore having a first diameter. The flow restrictor includes a second flowbody defining a plurality of second slots and having a second diameter proximate the plurality of second slots that is greater than the first diameter of the first flowbody. The second flowbody is configured to be received within the counterbore of the first flowbody.

An electrohydraulic poppet valve device control system includes a main body, an extend poppet valve, a retract valve body, a retract poppet valve, and an actuator. The actuator is movable to an extend position, a retract position, and a null position, and moves to, or remains in, the null position when electrical power is not supplied to the actuator. In the extend position, the extend poppet valve is in its open position and the retract poppet valve is in its closed position. In the retract position, the extend poppet valve is in its closed position and the retract poppet valve is in its open position. In the null position, the extend poppet valve is in its closed position and the retract poppet valve is in its closed position.

A system uses a two-stage electrohydraulic servo valve that includes an additional control port that commands a fail-fixed valve to lock the position of a device in the last commanded position. The additional port is modulated by an existing land on the EHSV valve element, adding little to no complexity. Major technical benefits of the disclosed system are that it adds little to no cost, complexity, size, or weight the device being controlled. The disclosed configuration allows for the use of a relatively small and simple fail-fixed valve, and the control ports on the controlled device keep 'drift' to a minimum, when transitioning between normal operating mode and fail-fixed operating mode.

In some examples, a device can be used for measuring a length of a wear indicator on a brake assembly. The device includes a moveable component configured to move based on contact with the wear indicator. The device also includes a sensor configured to detect a displacement of the moveable component. The device further includes processing circuitry configured to determine the length of the wear indicator based on the displacement of the moveable component detected by the sensor.

A fuel control system for a gas turbine engine includes a metering valve for metering a flow of fuel, a throttling valve for maintaining a pressure drop across the metering valve, the throttling valve being shiftable between an open state and a shutoff state blocking an outlet of the metering valve, a primary control pressure supply for supplying a primary control pressure to the metering valve for controlling the position of the metering valve, a backup control pressure supply, a transfer valve shiftable between a first position connecting the primary control pressure to supply to the metering valve and a second position connecting the backup control pressure to the metering valve, and an electrohydraulic servovalve (EHSV) operably connected to the throttling valve and the transfer valve and controlling the state of the transfer valve and the position of the throttling valve.
