Slidable assemblies are provided which include a support, a slidable assembly, and a spring-clip element. The slidable assembly, which includes a slide member, is coupled to the support to slide along the support between a first position and a second position. The spring-clip element is associated with the support, and receives the slide member of the slidable assembly. The slide member translates within the spring-clip element as the slidable assembly is slid between the first position and the second position, and is retained by the spring-clip element in position when the slidable assembly is slid to the second position to hold the slidable assembly and restrain the slidable assembly from sliding along the support to the first position.

Rack-mountable assemblies are provided which include a structure to be mounted to a frame of an electronics rack, and a spring-hinged mounting bracket associated with and extending from a side of the structure to facilitate mounting the structure to the frame of the electronics rack. The spring-hinged mounting bracket facilitates insertion of the structure into the frame by pivoting inward towards the side of the structure upon the spring-hinged mounting bracket encountering an obstruction as the rack-mountable assembly is positioned within the frame for mounting to the frame.

Rack-mountable assemblies are provided which include a cover configured to fixedly mount to a frame of an electronics rack, and a drawer configured to slidably mount to the frame adjacent to the cover to slide relative to the cover. When operatively mounted to the frame, the cover and drawer together define an enclosure for one or more electronic components. The assembly further includes an electromagnetic shielding structure to provide, at least in part, electromagnetic shielding at a gap between the cover and drawer when operatively positioned within the electronics rack. The electromagnetic shielding structure includes an electromagnetic shielding plate which overlies, at least in part, the gap between the cover and the drawer, and which self-adjusts with sliding of the drawer into the electronics rack to facilitate providing the electromagnetic shielding at the gap between the cover and the drawer.

Embodiments of the present disclosure include a device for managing cables within a rack. The device may include a first planar surface and a second planar surface connected by a bend line, wherein the first and second planar surfaces form a cable bracket body. The cable bracket body may include a plurality of cable tie-down points. Further, the cable management device may include an attachment clamp which corresponds to respective mount points located on vertically aligned horizontal rails of a rack. The attachment clamp may be configured to securely attach the cable management bracket onto the mount points of vertically aligned horizontal rails.

Modular elements removable from enclosures and employing cams forming detent features with latches are disclosed. A modular element may include a chassis body supporting electronic components. The modular element is removable from or secured to an enclosure using a latch. The latch may engage the enclosure and may remain engaged with the enclosure by being secured by interfacing with a cam. By forming the cam with a predetermined shape, a detent feature may be established with the latch to secure the latch and maintain the modular element locked to the enclosure. The latch may be disengaged from the cam by applying a disengagement motion to the cam and allow the latch to move relative to the chassis body and disengage from the enclosure. In this manner, the modular element is efficiently secured and removed from the enclosure with minimum obstruction to airflow to the electronic components.

A method for securing and removing modular elements employing latches is disclosed. A modular element may include a chassis body supporting electronic components. The body is in communication with a latch and a control member of the modular element. The modular element is removable from or secured to an enclosure using the latch. The latch may engage the enclosure and may remain engaged by being secured by interfacing with a catch of an arm of the control member. By connecting the arm to the control body with a living hinge, the living hinge may urge the catch into a detent of the latch to secure the latch and keep the modular element secured to the enclosure. The latch may be disengaged from the control member by applying a disengagement force to remove the catch from the detent. In this manner, the modular element is efficiently secured and removed from the enclosure.

Embodiments include a system that includes a first modular computing unit comprising a first signal communication interface, and an indicator module coupled to the first modular computing unit. The indicator module comprises, on a first side wall of the indicator module, a second signal communication interface adapted to register with the first signal communication interface of the first modular computing unit, thereby communicatively coupling the indicator module with the first modular computing unit in order to propagate signals from the first modular computing unit for display on the indicator module.

Modular elements employing latches with flexure bearings are disclosed. A modular element may include a chassis body supporting electronic components. The body is in communication with a latch and a control member of the modular element. The modular element is removable from or secured to an enclosure using the latch. The latch may engage the enclosure and may remain engaged by being secured by interfacing with a catch of an arm of the control member. By connecting the arm to the control body with a flexure bearing, the flexure bearing may urge the catch into a detent of the latch to secure the latch and keep the modular element secured to the enclosure. The latch may be disengaged from the control member by removing the catch from the detent. In this manner, the modular element is efficiently secured and removed from the enclosure.

A heat exchanger includes a flat metal tube that has flat top and bottom surfaces and an inner passage. The surfaces remove heat from a liquid passing through the passage from an inlet and toward an outlet of the heat exchanger. A first plurality of solid metal posts are mounted perpendicularly upon the top surface. Each fin of a first plurality of fins has holes fitted about the first plurality of posts such that the fins are mounted on the posts in vertically-spaced, parallel alignment relative to each other and the top surface. A second plurality of solid metal posts are mounted perpendicularly upon the bottom surface. Each fin of a second plurality of fins has holes fitted about the second plurality of posts such that the fins are mounted on the posts in vertically-spaced, parallel alignment relative to each other and the bottom surface.

An electromagnetic (EMC) shielding system includes a bezel and a sleeve. The bezel includes an exterior opening aligned with an accessible computer enclosure component. The sleeve includes a shoulder portion in contact with the exterior of the bezel, a flange portion protruding into the interior of the bezel through the exterior opening, and a tunnel portion extending through the shoulder portion and flange portion. The accessible computer enclosure component generally is positioned within the tunnel portion. An EMC shielding method includes inserting the sleeve into an exterior opening of the computer enclosure bezel and installing the bezel to a computer enclosure such that the accessible component is positioned within the tunnel portion.

A system includes an integrated circuit and a heatsink mounted thereon. The heatsink includes a flat base plate thermally coupled to a top surface of the integrated circuit, thermally-conductive solid metal posts mounted perpendicularly on the base plate, and flat metal fins. Each of the fins has holes fitted about the posts such that the fins are mounted on the posts in vertically-spaced, parallel alignment relative to each other and the top surface of the base plate. The system further includes a load plate mounted upon top surfaces of the posts, a printed circuit board, and a microprocessor socket mounted on the printed circuit board. The microprocessor socket includes a socket base upon which the integrated circuit is mounted such that the integrated circuit is electrically coupled through the socket base to the printed circuit board. Air may be forced through the heatsink.

A chassis for mounting sub-rack modular units is disclosed that includes a frame defining a forward opening through which modular units are inserted to attach to the frame, a first backplane attached to the frame and that operates to provide a first functionality to one or more attached modular units that are coupled to connectors of the first backplane, and a second backplane attached to the frame and that operates to provide a second functionality to one or more attached modular units that are coupled to connectors of the second backplane, wherein the second functionality is different than the first functionality.
