A system for depositing a fluid on a substrate is disclosed. The system can include a sleeve having a sleeve exit and an inner region and a rotating roll disposed within the inner region. A vascular network can be disposed within the rotating roll, the vascular network being configured for transporting the fluid in predetermined paths from the interior region to the exterior surface through a substantially radial path, the substantially radial path ending at an exit point of a fluid exit, wherein the exit point is associated with a sleeve exit.

Customizable apparatus and method for transporting and depositing fluids

A system for printing 7 or more inks on a substrate is disclosed. The system can include: 6 or less rotating rolls disposed in operative relationship with a substrate, wherein each of the rotating rolls can comprise a vascular network configured for transporting at least one of the 7 or more inks in a predetermined path from an interior region to an exterior surface of the rotating roll. The vascular network can have at least one main artery, at least one capillary and a plurality of fluid exits on the exterior surface. At least one capillary is attached to a main artery and is in fluid communication with at least two fluid exits through a substantially radial fluid path to form a tree.

Customizable apparatus and method for printing fluids

A rotating roll for depositing a fluid on a substrate is disclosed. The rotating roll can have a central longitudinal axis, wherein the rotating roll rotates about the central longitudinal axis. The rotating roll can have an exterior surface defining an interior region and a vascular network configured for transporting the fluid in predetermined paths from an interior region to the exterior surface of the rotating roll. The vascular network can have a main artery, a first capillary and a plurality of fluid exits on the exterior surface. The main artery can have an inlet and is substantially parallel to the central longitudinal axis of the rotating roll. Fluid enters the vascular network at the inlet and exits through substantially radial fluid paths to form a first tree.

A method of depositing a fluid onto a substrate is disclosed. The method can include the steps of providing a substrate, a fluid; a sleeve and roll system comprising a sleeve having a sleeve exit and an inner region and a rotating roll disposed within the inner region and a vascular network to supply the fluid from the interior region of the rotating roll to the exterior surface of the rotating roll in a predetermined path. The vascular network comprises a main artery, a tree comprising a first capillary, and a fluid exit on the exterior surface. The method includes the steps of transporting the fluid to the vascular network; controlling the flow of the fluid to move the fluid at a predetermined flow rate to the fluid exit; and contacting the substrate with the fluid.

When executed by one or more processors of a computer system, the computer-readable medium storing code causes the system to implement the method of: Preparing for display a graphical user interface; Receiving a plurality of parameters into the plurality of input fields; Emulating a mechanical operation of the machine using the plurality of parameters inputted into the plurality of input fields by simulating the programmable logic control code; Generating the output response data based on the emulation of the mechanical operation of the machine; Calculating one or more predicted product values based at least in part on the output response data provided to the a product model; and, Preparing for display the one or more predicted product values.

A machine includes a computer usable medium having computer readable program code for emulating a process of a machine having actuators and mechanical elements. The computer readable program code includes computer readable code instructions configured to display a graphical user interface having input fields corresponding to the actuators and mechanical elements, and to display a graphical representation of output response data of the machine using inputted parameters. Computer readable code instructions for receiving a plurality of parameters inputted into the plurality of input fields, and for emulating a mechanical operation of the machine using the plurality of parameters inputted into the plurality of input fields by simulating the programmable logic controller code are included. Output response data based on an emulation of the mechanical operation of the machine is generated and displayed.

Machines for emulating machines

Methods for generating predicted product values of a product produced by a machine and for predicting a process of a machine are disclosed. A method for generating predicted product values of a product manufactured by a machine includes presenting a machine input fields requesting parameters associated with actuators and mechanical elements, and presenting product input fields requesting desired product properties. The method further includes receiving parameters from the machine input fields, receiving desired product properties from the product input fields, and calculating output response data by an emulation of a mechanical operation of the machine using the parameters and the desired product properties. The output response data is provided to a product model that calculates predicted product values based on the output response data provided. The method further includes presenting the one or more predicted product values.
