A method of determining tumbling characteristics of resident space objects includes acquiring a geometry of a target object, generating a distribution of radio scatterers within the geometry of the target, calculating multiple radar cross sections at different angles for the distribution, finding an autocorrelation for each radar cross section versus each angle, using the autocorrelations to find a decorrelation angle, extracting a decorrelation time from radar data of the object, and finding a rotation rate of the object as the tumbling characteristic.

Method and system for detecting the tumbling characteristics of space objects

Technologies for calibrating radars and tracking space objects. Some of such technologies enable a technique for calibrating a radar based on using -A- an elemental antenna (), which can be embedded on a housing hosting a set of antenna elements, or -B- an antenna () mounted to a reflector. Some of such technologies enable a radar site containing a first 1D phased array () and a second 1D phased array (), where the first 1D phased array sends a set of signals and receives a set of reflections based on the set of signals, and the second 1D phased array receives the set of reflections.

This disclosure enables various technologies for determining space object attitude stabilities from radar cross-section statistics. In particular, such determinations can be made via employing various phased-array radars with various fields of views, which can monitor various space objects (e.g., satellites, space debris, rocket bodies, space stations) over various periods of time (e.g., minutes, hours, days, weeks, months) as the space objects come into the fields of views. For example, a technique for estimating attitude stability of low-Earth RSOs using RCS statistics from various radars (e.g., group of radars, phased-array radar network). Assuming a non-isotropic shape, an Earth-oriented RSO can have an elevation-angle dependent RCS when viewed from a ground-based radar. Therefore, an RSO attitude stability can be tested by looking for a difference in a median or mean RCS when the RSO is viewed at different elevation angles.

Systems, devices, and methods for determining space object attitude stabilities from radar cross-section statistics

The present disclosure generally relates to a Wheatstone bridge that has four resistors. Each resistor includes a plurality of tunneling magnetoresistance (TMR) structures. Two resistors have identical TMR structures. The remaining two resistors also have identical TMR structures, though the TMR structures are different from the other two resistors. Additionally, the two resistors that have identical TMR structures each have an additional non-TMR resistor as compared to the remaining two resistors that have identical TMR structures. Therefore, the working bias field for the Wheatstone bridge is non-zero.

The invention relates to a processing system. The processing system includes a determination module configured to make a determination that a low ground mass condition associated with an input device exists in an initial combination signal obtained from a sensor module using initial sensor settings. Based on the determination, adjusted sensor settings are determined, and an adjusted combination signal is obtained, using the adjusted sensor settings and, using the adjusted combination signal, object information for one or more input objects in a sensing region of the input device is obtained. The sensor module is configured to generate, using a first sensor electrode, a second sensor electrode, and the adjusted sensor settings, the adjusted combination signal. The adjusted combination signal includes effects of a transcapacitive coupling between the first sensor electrode and the second sensor electrode and effects of an absolute capacitive coupling between the second sensor electrode and the input object.

Methods and systems for dynamically adjusting combination signals

Sensor circuitry is configured to perform, for a sensing frame, mutual capacitive sensing to obtain mutual capacitive measurements, and perform, for the sensing frame, first self-capacitive sensing to obtain first self-capacitive measurements, and perform second self-capacitive sensing to obtain a second self-capacitive measurements. Processing circuitry is connected to the sensor circuitry and is configured to detect an inconsistency between the mutual capacitive measurements and the first self-capacitive measurements, and halt, in response to detecting the inconsistency, a second sensing frame to trigger performing the second self-capacitive sensing. The second sensing frame is subsequent to the first sensing frame. The processing circuitry is further configured to determine intermittent interference using the first self-capacitive measurements and the second self-capacitive measurements.

Sensor electrodes are coupled, in a first configuration, to input channels of a processing system. The sensor electrodes are used to acquire a measurement of current. In a second configuration that is different from the first configuration, the sensor electrodes are coupled to the input channels. A method and related processing system and input device are disclosed for power consumption optimization using interference measurements. The method comprises applying, within a predefined first low-power operational mode, a first set of values for at least one predefined sensing parameter and corresponding to a first power consumption level; acquiring, within the first low-power operational mode, a first interference measurement using the plurality of sensor electrodes; transitioning, upon determining the first interference measurement exceeds a first interference threshold value, into a predefined high-power operational mode; and applying, within the high-power operational mode, a second set of values for the at least one predefined sensing parameter and corresponding to a second power consumption level greater than the first power consumption level.

A processing system, including: a sensor module that: receives, in a first sensing modality, first resulting signals from electrodes in a sensing region; and receives, in a second sensing modality, second resulting signals from a subset of receiver electrodes; and receiver hardware channels that process the second resulting signals, where the number of receiver electrodes exceeds the number of hardware channels; and a determination module that: measures a first plurality of capacitive changes based on the first resulting signals; determines, based on the first plurality of capacitive changes, the section of the sensing region in which an input object is located; selects the subset of the receiver electrodes corresponding to the section; measures a second plurality of capacitive changes based on the second resulting signals; and determines a position of the input object within the section based on the second plurality of capacitive changes.

In a method of determining noise templates for use in capacitive sensing, a plurality of changes of capacitance are acquired, which include noise components, from a plurality of sensor electrodes in a sample capacitive sensor. Each of a plurality of substantially orthogonal noise templates is determined based on the acquired plurality of changes in capacitance. Multiple substantially orthogonal noise templates are selected, from the plurality of substantially orthogonal noise templates, to be used as a set of substantially orthogonal noise templates for reduction of the noise components of the acquired plurality of changes of capacitance.

In a method of capacitive sensing, a first plurality of sensor electrodes of a sensor electrode pattern is coupled, in a first configuration, to input channels of a processing system. A noise environment is determined through analysis of the measurement of current. At least one subset of the first plurality of sensor electrodes is coupled, in a second configuration, to the input channels. The second configuration and the first configuration are different. In an example, a processing system for a capacitive sensing device includes a sensor module having sensor circuitry coupled to a first plurality of sensor electrodes. The sensor module is configured to receive resulting signals from the plurality of sensor electrodes using a capacitive sensing signal having a plurality of capacitive sensing bursts and a sensing frequency. The sensor module is further configured to introduce at least one phase shift between a respective at least one pair of the plurality of capacitive sensing bursts. The processing system further includes a determination module configured to determine capacitive measurements based on the resulting signals.
