An annulus filler assembly for a rotor of a turbomachine, the assembly comprising: an annulus lid () having a radially outwardly facing surface () for forming an inner wall of a flow annulus of the rotor and a radially inwardly facing surface; and a frame for supporting the annulus lid (), the frame being mountable to a disc of the rotor such that the annulus lid () is spaced away from the disc, wherein the frame () comprises a connection portion () which, in use, passes through an aperture () in the annulus lid () from the radially inwardly facing surface towards the radially outwardly facing surface () such that at least a portion of the connection portion () is visible from the radially outwardly facing surface (); the assembly further comprising a locking element () which locks the connection portion () to the annulus lid () via the visible portion of the connection portion ().

Annulus filler assembly for a rotor of a turbomachine

An annulus filler for mounting to a rotor disc of a gas turbine engine. The filler comprises a lid for bridging the gap between two adjacent blades attached to the rotor disc, and forward and rearward hook members projecting below the lid and configured to respectively engage with forward and rearward outwardly directed hooks provided on the rotor disc. The filler can further comprise a lip extending from the rear of the lid, the lip being configured to fit beneath a gas-washed element located rearwards of the annulus filler. One or more guide ramps then extend from the rear of the lip, the or each guide ramp being angled down relative to the lip to encourage the lip to slide beneath said fairing when the annulus filler is translated in the generally rearwards direction.

Annulus filler for a gas turbine engine

A rear fan case for a gas turbine engine includes a main body and a discrete joining arrangement mounted on the outside of the main body towards its rear end. The joining arrangement provides a substantially radial groove around the main body, which can receive a joining blade on a thrust reverser unit to form a joint between the rear fan case and the thrust reverser unit. The joining arrangement may be made of metal while the main body is made of composite material. Features may be provided to ensure proper alignment and location of the joining arrangement.
