The present disclosure relates to internal combustion engines. Various embodiments may include a fuel injection system for delivering fuel to an internal combustion engine. For example, fuel injector may include a valve body having a cavity; a valve needle with a retainer moving in the cavity; an actuator assembly comprising: a spring element next to the valve needle; an electro-magnetic coil; an armature element movable in the cavity; and an anti-bounce device. The armature element may be between the retainer portion of the valve needle and the anti-bounce device. The anti-bounce device may impose a spring force and a hydraulic force for dampening a movement of the armature element. The anti-bounce device may comprise a spring portion exerting the spring force to close the valve needle and a hydraulic damper portion integrally connected to the spring portion.

The present disclosure relates to internal combustion engines. Various embodiments thereof may include a fuel injection valve for a combustion engine comprising: a valve body with a cavity; a valve needle movable in the cavity; an actuator assembly to actuate the valve needle. The actuator assembly includes an electro-magnetic coil, a pole piece positioned inside the cavity, and an armature element. The armature element moves within the cavity to move the valve needle in a predetermined direction. A fixing ring abutting the pole piece, fixed to the valve body by means of joining to a circumferential surface of the cavity.

Various embodiments may include a long injector for fuel injection comprising: a base portion and an extension portion electrically connected to the base portion. An end of the extension portion may include an electrically conductive terminal with contact clips. The contact clips are spaced at a distance from each other or from a side wall of the electrically conductive terminal. An end of the base portion comprises electrical contacts positioned so each of the electrical contacts can slide into a contact clip of the electrically conductive terminal. The electrically conductive terminal includes a latch mechanism. An electrical connection between the base portion and the extension portion is created when the electrical contacts are inserted into the contact clip and held by the latch mechanism. The long injector further comprises an overmolded body encapsulating the electrical connection between the base portion and the extension portion.

Long injector for fuel injection into an internal combustion engine

The present disclosure relates in general to injectors and, more specifically, to a fuel injection assembly that may be used in an internal combustion engine. In some embodiments, a fuel injection assembly may include: a fuel injector with a fuel inlet port and a fuel outlet end; and an injector cup with a recess receiving the fuel inlet port of the fuel injector through an opening of the recess. The injector cup comprises a collar extending circumferentially around the opening. The injector cup comprises a tab extending longitudinally beyond the opening in a direction towards the fuel outlet end. The tab projects axially beyond the collar in a longitudinal direction towards the fuel outlet end. The fuel injector comprises a pocket receiving the tab.

Fuel injection assembly

An injection valve assembly includes a valve body having a cavity with a fluid inlet and a fluid outlet, a valve needle axially movable in the cavity to control fluid flow through the fluid outlet, an electro-magnetic actuator unit having an armature axially movable in the cavity and having a main body and a flange axially distanced from and fixedly coupled to the main body, and a stop element fixed to the valve needle and arranged in the cavity between the main body and the flange. An armature spring in the cavity forces the stop element into contact with an inner surface of the flange. An overlapping area of the stop element and the inner surface is bounded by an inner contour and an outer contour, and an area enclosed by the outer contour is at least three times as large as an area enclosed by the inner contour.

A fuel injector may include a central longitudinal axis and may be arranged in a cylinder head of a combustion engine. The fuel injector has an injector body and an adjustment device, the adjustment device including a ring element configured to be arranged in a recess of a cylinder head between the injector body and the cylinder head to align the fuel injector relative to the recess in radial direction. The ring element comprises a magnetic material. A fuel-injection system is also disclosed that includes a cylinder head of an internal combustion engine and a fuel injector as disclosed above.

A valve assembly of an injection valve may include a valve body having a cavity forming an inner guide surface and having a fluid inlet portion and a fluid outlet portion, a valve needle in the cavity that controls a fluid flow through the fluid outlet portion, the valve needle having an upper end facing the fluid inlet portion and an inner recess extending from the upper end and enabling a fluid flow inside the valve needle. A guide element in the cavity is mechanically coupled to the upper end of the valve needle and extends radially to the inner guide surface of the valve body and guides the upper end of the valve needle inside the valve body. The guide element forms a one-piece extension of the valve needle with an inner recess hydraulically coupled to the fluid inlet portion and the inner recess of the valve needle.

A valve assembly includes a valve body, a movable valve needle, a movable armature, and an elastic member. The armature is axially moveable with respect to the needle so that, when the needle is in the closing position, the armature is movable from a first position further in the second direction to a second position against the bias of the elastic member. The elastic member has a plurality of beams, each beam having a first end and a second end which are axially and radially offset with respect to each other, and the armature is operable to reduce the axial offset between the first end and the second end when moving from the first to the second position.

A Fastening element has a carrier. A first pair of prongs branches off a first side face of the carrier designed to be in a mechanical engagement with a protrusion of a injector cup. A second pair of prongs branches off a second side face of the carrier. The second pair of prongs is designed to retain a fluid injector and to couple mechanically to a first protrusion of the injector. A pair of pins branches off a respective prong from the second pair of prongs at a respective inner side face of the respective prong. The pins are arranged opposed to each other and in a given distance from each other and they are designed to be in a mechanical engagement with the fluid injector. A clamping device being designed to couple mechanically with the fluid injector cup and to exert a repelling force on the fluid injector cup.

A coupling arrangement for coupling an injection valve to a cylinder head of a combustion engine has a housing with a central longitudinal axis coupled to a fuel rail at a first axial end area and to a valve body at a second axial end area of the housing, and the valve body being arranged at the central longitudinal axis having at least one first protrusion arranged facing a second axial end area of a first ring element. Furthermore, the first ring element is arranged at least partly circumferentially the valve body at the first protrusion, wherein at a first axial end area of the first ring element the first ring element is in contact with the housing at the second axial end area and at the second axial end area the first ring element rests on the cylinder head. The first ring element has a plastic.
