The invention relates to a firing support for ceramics formed from a carbon substrate at least partially covered by a coating based on silicon carbide (SiC), said coating additionally adhering to said substrate. The invention also relates to a process for obtaining such a support.

Firing support for ceramics and method for obtaining same

The invention relates to a porous, fired ceramic foam having a total porosity of between 50 and 92% and an intergranular porosity of at least 5%. In particular, the invention relates to a recrystallised silicon carbide foam.

This structure comprises first and second filtering elements (A,B) which are respectively provided with a first and a second face (A,B) arranged opposite each other and a seal () connecting said faces (A,B).
