Systems and methods for identifying alterations in a musculoskeletal system of a subject are disclosed. After detecting physical quantities representative of a state of the subject, a biomechanical model for the subject is identified and combined movements of muscles and bones as a function of said physical quantities and of said biomechanical model are determined. The combined movements are converted into a plurality of movement steps of segments and joints. Parameters representative of the alterations are computed, and the parameters are compared with predefined reference values representative of alteration thresholds in the musculoskeletal system. The alterations are identified as a function of a failed matching between the computed parameters and the predefined reference values, and the belonging of this correspondence to one or more groups of musculoskeletal pathologies as a function of said identified alteration is determined.

System and method for identifying alterations in a muscle-skeleton system of a specific subject

Mould and method for realizing a temporary prosthesis of hip or shoulder, which comprises a shaft and a head. The mould comprises: a first mould portion () comprising a first half-shell (); a second mould portion () comprising a second half-shell (); the first mould portion () and the second mould portion () being able to be coupled with respect to each other so that the first and second half-shell () are counter-faced and define a chamber () which conforms a shaft portion (), a head portion () and an opening () for injection of a fluid (preferably viscous) material; fixing means () for fixing the first and the second portion (); a first insert () comprising a cap portion () which is realized as a unique body, is dimensioned to be inserted in the head portion () and is conformed to give shape to the head of the prosthesis. The first mould portion (), the second mould portion () and the first insert () are mutually conformed to obtain a temporary prosthesis, when the first mould portion () and the second mould portion () are coupled together, the first insert () is inserted in the head portion () and the fluid (preferably viscous) material is injected in the opening ().

Device and method for the treatment of joint instability

A surgical aid for joints which allows the positioning of mono-compartment or three-compartment prosthetic components so that the isometry of the capsular-ligament tissues of the knee is maintained during the entire range of motion. Such surgical aid comprises: a first element () intended to be positioned in contact with a first bone of a joint; a second element (), intended to be positioned in contact with a second bone of the joint; the first and second element () being movable relatively to one another along at least a first direction (X); a displacement sensor () predisposed for measuring a relative displacement between the first and second element (); an actuator/motor () predisposed for exerting a force that tends to move the first element () and second element () away from one another; a pressure sensor () which measures the force that is exerted between the first and second bone; a processing module () arranged to control the actuator/motor () so as to calculate the variation of the slope arising from the relationship between distance and force; the processing module () receives in input the signal emitted by the displacement sensor (), the force sensor () and the pressure sensor ().

Surgical aid for joints

A fixing device for suture threads to be inserted into a bone tissue comprises: a first portion () provided with at least a first eyelet (), slot or eye, through which at least a first suture thread () can be threaded; at least a second portion () destined to be coupled stably in a transosseus seating or hole () afforded in a cortical part thereof. The second portion () is elastically deformable in order to enable effective coupling to the seating or hole ().

Fixing device for suture threads to be inserted into a bone tissue

The invention concerns a perfected device for the transosseous insertion of suture threads. This device comprises a main body () supporting a protruding cannula () provided with an active end (); the device comprises a flexible threadlike element (), on which there are fashioned a sharp tip () and an opening () that serves for the threading of at least one suture thread (), said element () being housed in a coaxially sliding manner inside said cannula () and, on command, exiting from the active end () of the cannula, assuming a curved position; the device comprises first means for producing the coaxial movement of the threadlike element () in the two directions with respect to the cannula () and second means for producing a coaxial movement of the threadlike element in the exiting direction from the cannula (); for a short tract, the movement produced by the second means is disengaged from the advancement of the threadlike element produced by the first means.

Perfected device for the transosseous insertion of suture threads

A device for the transosseous insertion of suture threads comprises: &#x2014;a main body (), equipped with a grip (), supporting a protruding cannula () provided with an active end (); &#x2014;a flexible thread-like element () which is housed in a coaxially sliding manner inside the cannula () and is suitable, on command, for exiting from the active end () of the cannula (). The thread-like element () is made of a super-elastic, shape-memory material and thus has the property of freely assuming, at least in an adequate temperature range for which its operative use is foreseen, a natural and predetermined curved form at least in a determined portion of the terminal part thereof. Means are provided for producing the coaxial movement of the thread-like element () in the two directions relative to the cannula ().
