Network data analytics function architecture with dynamic analytic functions

A method, by a first node, for handling provision of an IMS service. A communications network comprises a first slice handling a first IMS service, and a second slice handling a second IMS service. The first node obtains, from a second node at least one of a first and a second indication. The first indication is of a first routing service instance for a third node handling the first service in the first slice. The second indication is of a second routing service instance for a fourth node handling the second service in the second slice. The first node routes a request, to one of the nodes with one of the proviso that when the request is for the first service, the routing is based on the first indication, and when the request is for the second service, the routing is based on the second indication.

Nodes and methods for handling provision of an IMS service in a communications network

Disclosed is a method performed by an IP Multimedia System, IMS (), of a communication network. The method comprises receiving information of a call initiation or a call reception by a wireless communication device (), the information comprising an ID indicative of a subscriber of the wireless communication device (). The method further comprises sending information of the initiated or received call to an online charging system, OCS (), the information comprising the ID indicative of the subscriber of the wireless communication device (), receiving, from the OCS () and in response to the sending, a pointer referring to a notification picture, and sending the pointer to the wireless communication device (). Hereby it is possible for an operator to send notification pictures to its subscribers. Disclosed are also methods performed by the OCS () and the wireless communication device ().

Methods, wireless communication device, IMS and OCS for sending information to communication network subscribers

A method of managing registration of a User Equipment (UE) with an IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) via a Long-Term Evolution (LTE) network. The method comprises, following termination of a Voice over LTE (VoLTE) call, initiating a timer at the UE and, if no VoLTE call is initiated to or from the UE prior to expiry of the timer, then sending an IMS de-registration request from the UE to the IMS.

Device registration in a communications network

Embodiments herein relate to a method performed by an IMS node for handling data of a UE, in a communication network, wherein the communication network comprises partitioned sets of functionalities of one or more core networks wherein each set of functionalities belongs to a network slice. The IMS node receives, from the UE, a message for registering the UE to the IMS node, wherein the message comprises a slice indication indicating a network slice identity and a UE indication identifying the UE. The IMS node stores a registration of the UE in the IMS node, in addition to a previously stored registration of the UE, with the proviso that the indicated network slice identity differs from a previous network slice identity of the previously stored registration of the UE and thereby allowing parallel active communications using the registration and the previously stored registration.

A method performed within a communication system comprising a 5G core network and an IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) network, where the 5G core network is configured to implement a plurality of virtual core network slices each having a slice identifier. The method comprises assigning one of said virtual core network slices to a User Equipment (UE) at or following registration of said UE with the IMS network, and sending from the UE or the 5G core network, to the IMS network, the slice identifier of the network slice assigned to the UE. The network node initiates a transmission of an indication, during a connection setup for the wireless device, to the radio network node, which indication indicates the supported first set of functionalities.

Enabling dual registration of user equipment with IP multimedia subsystems

A method of handling SIP session initiation requests in an IP Multimedia Subsystem, IMS, network. The method is performed at an application server, AS, within the network. The AS receives a session initiation request containing a destination address, where that destination address is currently associated with a plurality of registered User Equipments, UEs. The AS then determines whether or not a UE associated with the destination address, is already involved in a session. If so, the AS causes the session initiation request to be forwarded only to that UE. If not, the AS causes the session initiation request to be forwarded to all UEs registered in respect of the address.

A method of routing a session from a calling party in a serving communication network of the calling party to a called party is described. The serving communication network of the calling party is distinct from a home communication network of the calling party. The method is executed by a session routing node in the serving communication network of the calling party. In order to optimize a session routing path of signaling data of the session, the method comprises receiving from the home communication network of the calling party a session routing request requesting routing the signaling data of the session to the called party via the serving communication network of the calling party, and routing the signaling data of the session to the called party via the serving communication network of the calling party based on the received session routing request.

The Auxiliary Service media data is prepared and sent to the recipient together with a correlation ID identifying the established communication exchange, and an Application Classmark identifying the auxiliary service.
