A method of noise management in an electric heavy vehicle, including determining a noise threshold and corresponding reduced target speed for a cooling fan providing cooling of a propulsion/braking system of the vehicle, obtaining look-ahead data pertinent to an upcoming section of a road, and to determine a speed profile for the vehicle such that a cooling requirement of the propulsion/braking system does not exceed a cooling capacity of the cooling fan running at the reduced target speed. The method further includes, while driving along the section of the road, controlling the cooling fan not to exceed the target speed, and controlling the speed of the vehicle in accordance with the speed profile. A corresponding control system, heavy vehicle, computer program and computer program product are also provided.

The disclosure relates to a method for monitoring a temperature of a brake system of a vehicle, the method comprising determining a dynamic warning temperature profile for the brake system, wherein the dynamic warning temperature profile is based on a warning temperature value of the brake system and a threshold value indicative of the number of times the temperature of the brake system exceeds the warning temperature value; monitoring the number of times when the temperature of the brake system exceeds the warning temperature value of the dynamic warning temperature profile; and when the number of times the temperature of the brake system exceeds the threshold value, adjusting the warning temperature level of the dynamic warning temperature profile to a reduced warning temperature level.

System and method for use in connection with a wheel torque generating component in a heavy-duty vehicle

A method performed by a control unit comprised in a vehicle for controlling a distribution of service brake activation between a first vehicle unit and a second vehicle unit of the vehicle is provided. The control unit determines a first periodic brake adjustment and a second periodic brake adjustment to be applied to an electric propulsion system and a service brake system of the vehicle. The control unit determines the first and second periodic brake adjustment, respectively, to adjust a retardation of the vehicle by less than a retardation threshold. The control unit applies the first periodic brake adjustment to the electric propulsion system of the vehicle and applies the second periodic brake adjustment to the service brake system of the vehicle. Applying the first periodic brake adjustment comprises periodically adjusting a charging power of the electric propulsion system of the vehicle. Applying the second periodic brake adjustment comprises periodically adjusting a brake pressure applied to the service brake system of the vehicle. Periodically adjusting the brake pressure applied to the service brake system triggers the service brake system to periodically activate one or more second service brakes of the second vehicle unit of the vehicle.

Method and system for controlling steering of a vehicle

A wheel suspension system and a method for controlling the system. The wheel suspension system includes a first axle provided with wheels and a second axle provided with wheels. The first axle is connected to a first driveshaft portion via a first differentialand the second axle is connected to a second driveshaft portion via a second differential. The system further includes angular speed sensors designed to detect the rotational speed of the axles, and/or the rotational speed of the respective wheels. The angular speed sensors are connected to an electronic control unit (ECU) which is designed to calculate a difference between the angular speed of the first and second axles, and/or a difference between the angular speed of the respective wheels by the use of input data from the angular speed sensors. The speed difference can be used as an indication of different wheel radius of the wheels. The system includes a coupling, e.g. a dog clutch arrangement, arranged in the driveshaft and positioned between the first and second drive shaft portions for changing the first and second drive shaft portions between being drivingly connected and disconnected.
