A well testing apparatus includes tank manifold skids connected to tanks, a pump manifold skid, and a control system. Each tank manifold skid includes first pipework, second pipework, and valves. The first pipework of each tank manifold skid cooperates with the first pipework of another tank manifold skid to enable fluid communication between the tank manifold skids. The second pipework of each tank manifold skid enables fluid communication between the first pipework and a connected tank, while the valves can control flow through the second pipework to the tank. The pump manifold skid is coupled to the tank manifold skids and includes fluid manifolds, pumps, and valves. The control system includes a control unit for remotely actuating the valves to selectively control fluid flow from a separator to the tanks via the pump manifold skid and the tank manifold skids. Additional systems, methods, and devices are also disclosed.

Modular well testing systems and methods

A method of determining properties of a fluid having an oil phase, a water phase, and an emulsion phase between the oil phase and water phase includes emitting an electromagnetic wave into the fluid, measuring an amplitude of a reflection of the electromagnetic wave off an interface between the oil phase in order to determine a height of a coalescing portion of the oil/emulsion interface. A height of a creaming portion of the emulsion/water interface is then determined using the coalescing portion height, total fluid height and water-in-liquid ratio. A thickness of the emulsion phase is determined based on the difference between coalescing and creaming portion height.

Determining multi-phasic fluid properties and hydrocarbon production information as a function thereof

A well testing apparatus includes a separator, a well control assembly upstream of the separator, and a fluid management assembly downstream of the separator. At least one of the well control assembly or the fluid management assembly can include flow control equipment, a controller for controlling actuation of the flow control equipment, and a human-machine interface that enables an operator to monitor or control operation of the well control assembly or the fluid management assembly. The human-machine interface can be positioned with the flow control equipment so as to enable an operator to directly sense contextual clues about operation of the well control assembly or the fluid management assembly independent of the human-machine interface while using the human-machine interface. Surface well testing systems and methods

A method for analyzing the reliability of a measured volumetric flow rate of a fluid in a gas outlet line of a gas-liquid separator is provided. In one embodiment, analyzing the reliability of the measured volumetric flow rate includes measuring a gas volume fraction of the fluid in the gas outlet line, comparing the measured gas volume fraction of the fluid to a threshold gas volume fraction level, and determining whether the measured volumetric flow rate of the fluid is reliable based on the comparison. Additional systems, devices, and methods are also disclosed.
