A method for managing communication between a control device, called a first control device, and a reading terminal that are able to communicate with one another via a first communication link. The first control device is able to communicate with the reading terminal when a communication session is active on the first communication link. The reading terminal is connected, via a second communication link, to a rendering device having a plurality of operating states and able to render content depending on its operating state. The method of managing includes the following steps in the reading terminal: obtaining an item of data representative of a modification of the operating state of the rendering device, and a step of requesting modification of the state of the session between the reading device and the first control device on the basis of the obtained item of data.

Method for managing communication between a control device and a reading terminal

A management method performed by a management entity of a terminal. The method includes starting up the terminal, referred to as a current startup. The terminal includes a plurality of applications stored in the terminal and programmed to be executed after or in parallel with startup of the terminal. The management entity manages execution of the plurality of applications stored in the terminal, by spreading execution of the applications over time. In response to a duration between a start of the current startup and a start of a previous startup being less than a given duration, the management entity increases duration between the execution times of the plurality of applications for a next startup.

Method for managing the access to a multimedia content

A method for managing adaptive streaming of an item of digital content within a multimedia stream reading terminal connected to a mobile communication network is disclosed. The item of digital content is associated with a description file for the item and includes a list of time segments of the item of content that are each associated with multiple encoding rates of the item of content. A maximum data volume to be consumed within the mobile communication network, as a data bucket, is allocated to the multimedia stream reading terminal. When the adaptive streaming of the item is launched, the method determines a data volume that would be consumed by the multimedia stream reading terminal as a result of streaming the time segments and selects a maximum encoding rate of the item authorized for the streaming on the basis of the consumed data volume associated therewith and of the data bucket.

A method for managing the HTTP adaptive streaming of an item of digital content within a multimedia stream player terminal in a local communication network is disclosed, the multimedia stream player terminal being associated with a terminal for rendering the item of digital content. On detection of an active state of a screen saver mode of the rendering terminal, such a management method implements a progressive reduction of a video rendering quality of the streamed item of digital content, and maintains an audio rendering quality of the item of content.

A method for managing zapping from a first digital content to a second digital content is disclosed. A method for managing adaptive progressive downloading of digital content broadcast in real time within a multimedia stream player terminal is disclosed. The method includes obtaining a description file of the digital content, including a list of time segments of the content to be downloaded each associated with several encoding rates of the content, and determining an encoding rate of the time segments to be downloaded for real time rendering of the content, according to a resource constraint of the terminal. If the determined encoding rate is less than a maximum encoding rate proposed in the description file, the method implements a selection of an option: of downloading the time segments at the determined encoding rate and rendering the content in real time; or of downloading the time segments at an encoding rate higher than the determined encoding rate and rendering the content offline.

A method for managing, in a reader terminal, streaming of a televisual content, called the main content, and of a navigation interface concomitantly from a telecommunication network, the navigation interface has regions including contents representative of real-time televisual contents available for selection, which contents are called secondary contents. The method includes the following steps, in the multimedia-stream reader terminal: receiving a command to display the navigation interface; and transmitting a request to access secondary contents of the interface, the request including a datum representative of a type of secondary contents to be streamed, the chosen image type taking into account a datum related to the streaming of the main content.
