A method of space communication for IoT or equivalent services increases the number of terminals served on a space transmission resource while limiting the signaling used by the terminal. This limitation is obtained on the one hand by the allotting to each terminal of a logical beam, corresponding to a predetermined fixed geographical area wherein the terminal lies. This limitation is obtained on the other hand by management, centralized at the level of a central entity for connecting to the space network, of the association of the terminal with a logical beam and of the association of the resources bound for the logical attachment beam. A space telecommunications system implements a method of space communication. The method of space communication allows transparent switchover from a terrestrial system to the space system when the terrestrial system and the space system are integrated to a high degree, particularly at the level of the terminal.

Space communication method for IoT services and corresponding space telecommunications system

A method for entry into a satellite communication network includes at least one satellite, the communications of the satellite communication network being organized according to a beam-hopping mechanism wherein hop frames define antenna beam configurations of the at least one satellite, wherein resources of the hop frames are reserved for forming directional entry beams dedicated to entry or re-entry of user terminals into the satellite communication network, at least two of the directional entry beams having different directions of sight. Procedure for entry into a satcom network employing beam hopping

A method for transmitting data packets through a random-access (RA) transmission channel shared by a plurality of user terminals uses and exploits a function F for assigning and distributing transmission resources F(u) to the user terminals, knowledge of the graph of which is shared by the sending user terminals and the receiving station in a preliminary step. During the decoding of the received packets, the graph {(u, F(u)} of the assigning and distributing function is exploited by the receiving station to minimize, or even to decrease to zero, the number of replica-location correlations required in case of failure of the conventional CRD-SA protocol decoding process.

Method and system for transmitting data packets via a random access (RA) transmission channel

A method of adapting the capacity of a contention transmission channel between terminals and a connection station comprises a step of continuous estimation, using measurements in reception of expected bursts, a probability of receiving an empty expected burst Pe, or the probability Pe and a measured probability of receiving a burst Ps, or a probability of receiving a burst having undergone a collision Pc. The method determines a current quantity Gr, monotonically sensitive to the external loading of the contention channel, using an estimated probability, Pe or Pc, or of the two estimated probabilities Pe and Ps, and detects whether a crossing of a threshold from among two predetermined thresholds while deviating from a fixed nominal value of Gr has occurred to decide to increase or decrease the current capacity of the transmission channel. The connection station notifies the terminals in quasi-real-time of the current composition of the transmission channel.

Method for dynamically adapting the capacity of a contention transmission channel

A method of controlling congestion in a communications network comprising a plurality of terminals, comprises the steps of: receiving a message or a message fragment at a given instant; evaluating the number of terminals currently sending; defining a congestion window, of duration &#x394;Tf configured so as to be proportional to the number N of terminals currently sending and inversely proportional to the maximum input loading G of the network which makes it possible to obtain a substantially zero rate of retransmissions; for each terminal and each message or message fragment to be sent, make the start of the congestion window coincide with the given instant of receipt of a message or message fragment and define an actual instant of sending of the message or message fragment as a random value taken in the congestion window.

Method of controlling congestion for contention access network

A method of processing data in a telecommunications system enabling dynamic adaptation of the quantity of data to transmit. The data is organized into a set of packets contained in a first layer of a communication model. The method includes a first step of passage of an item of information indicating the size of each packet or representative of this size between the first layer and a second layer. It also includes a second step of encapsulation of the packet and of passage of the packet between the first layer and the second layer in a container the size of which is adapted to the information indicating the size of a packet or representative of this size. The method finally includes a third step of application of a block error correcting code to the data contained in the container, the correcting code adapting dynamically to the size of the container.

Method and system for processing data in a telecommunications system for dynamic adaptation to the quantity of data to be transmitted

A method for optimizing the resources of a data transmission, based on a set of pairs of modulation and first correcting code, includes: determining, for each pair, maximum rate of a second correcting code applied to data transmitted before application of the first correcting code and of modulation wherein the error rate in data received is maximum a target error rate; the second correcting code applied at the medium access layer, to generate packets of redundancy bits based on packets of data bits received supplemented with padding sections, all having the same size; evaluating an item of information representative of the ratio between bits at input of the medium access layer and bits actually transmitted or of transmission bitrate required for solutions associating modulation, first and second correcting codes; selecting, from among solutions associating modulation, first and second correcting codes, to maximize the ratio or to minimize the transmission bitrate.

Method for optimizing the resources of a data transmission at the level of the MAC layer and device implementing the method

A method for the time allocation of a satellite communication resource and an associated communication system. The method includes transmitting, by the terminal, a request indicating the time of input of a message into the system and its time requirement, and allocating the communication resource to the message, by performing a processing of the requests by a message scheduling calculation taking into account the time of input of the message into the system and its time requirement.

Method for the optimized allocation of a satellite communication resource and associated communication system

A communications method for retransmission of at least one fragment of a lost or erroneous message from a terminal to a gateway over a communications network comprising a plurality of terminals, communicating over a demand assignment multiple access and comprising a control center allocating the communications resource to the terminals, comprises: detection, by the gateway, of fragments of lost or erroneous messages and, when at least one fragment is detected, notification via the gateway to the control center of the loss of at least one fragment; calculation, by the control center, of a second allocation plan taking into account a new transmission of the fragment; notification by the gateway to the terminal of the loss of the fragment and notification by the control center to the terminal of the second allocation plan; transmission by the terminal of the lost fragment according to the second allocation plan to the gateway.
