A flameless candle includes a shell that has a sidewall and a hollow interior region. The sidewall can be made of a waxen material. The sidewall has a thickness and opacity. The shell also has a hollow interior region within the sidewall. A lamp (for example, LED) may be housed within the hollow interior region. The flameless candle also includes an insert. The insert can be made of a waxen material that may have different properties from the material of the sidewall. The insert is positioned in a top area of the hollow interior region. The insert includes a shading wall that has a thickness and opacity. The thickness of the sidewall may be different than the thickness of the shading wall. As another option, the opacity of the sidewall may be different from the opacity of the shading wall.

Insert for flameless candle

A connector assembly for use with dual conductor cable is disclosed. The connector assembly includes a first connector, a second connector, first and second fixture wires, and first and second connector terminals. The first and second connectors are removably attachable. The first connector includes a first connector base, two prongs extending from the first connector base, and a first connector slot for accepting the first connector terminal. The second connector includes a second connector base, two wings extending from the second connector base, and a second connector slot for accepting the second connector terminal. The wings are sized and configured to accept the two prongs when the first and second connectors are joined. The first and second connector terminals include a spike extending generally away from the base of the connector into which the terminal has been secured. The first connector terminal is secured in the first connector in electrical communication with the first fixture wire, and the second connector terminal is secured in the second connector in electrical communication with second fixture wire. The first and second connectors, when joined by the insertion of the prongs between the wings, define a central portion sized to allow the passage of the dual conductor cable to which the first and second connectors are connected. When the first and second connectors are joined with the dual connector cable located in the central portion, the spikes of the first and second terminals penetrate into the dual conductor cable, whereby the dual conductor cable is placed into electrical communication with the first and second fixture wire.

According to embodiments of the present invention, an electronic device includes a first electrical conductor located in a shell. The first electrical conductor has a vertical portion and a horizontal portion at the bottom of the vertical portion. A cap has a second electrical conductor and can be mated with the shell. After mating, the second electrical conductor contacts the horizontal portion of the first electrical conductor.

According to embodiments of the present invention, a flameless candle is claimed, depicted, and described. The candle has a candle shell, which includes a sidewall (such as a waxen sidewall) surrounding a hollow region. There is an opening through the bottom of the candle shell leading into the hollow region. This flameless candle also has an electronics insert. The insert has a housing. At least one thread (for example, an exterior thread or male thread) is arranged on a lateral portion of the housing. This thread (or threads as used herein) can be rotated in response to a torque force on the electronics insert. The rotation causes the electronics insert to be drawn through the opening and into the hollow region, thereby substantially securing the electronics insert to the candle shell.

Flameless candle with threaded insert and method for assembling the same

According to embodiments of the present invention, a flameless candle includes a slide member including a protrusion and a nose. The flameless candle also includes a base including a radial aperture in a horizontal plane. The radial aperture is configured to receive the protrusion and permit a movement of the slide member in a corresponding radial direction. The slide member has an ON position when the protrusion is located at an inwards position along the radial direction. The slide member also has an OFF position when the protrusion is located at an outwards position along the radial direction. The flameless candle also includes a battery contact including a rotatable portion and a mechanical contact portion. In an embodiment, the rotatable portion is configured to rotate in a vertical plane. The nose of the slide member is configured to rotate the rotatable portion as the slide member moves between the ON position and the OFF position, and cause the mechanical contact portion to contact a battery when the slide member is in the ON position.
