The method also comprises estimating an end-to-end RTT between the terminal device and server, based on the first and second RTT. A method of throttling a media stream, comprising a sequence of media segments, for transmission to a client via a radio access network is provided. The method comprises acquiring a media segment, determining a duration of the media segment, transmitting a first part ('-&#x2032;) of the media segment to the client, and transmitting a remaining part (&#x2033;-&#x2033;) of the media segment to the client. At least one of the parts (&#x2032;-&#x2033;-&#x2033;) is transmitted during a time interval (&#x394;t, &#x394;t) which is shorter than a corresponding duration of that part, and transmitting the remaining part is delayed (&#x394;t), such that a time interval (&#x394;t) between starting transmitting the first part and transmission of the remaining part being completed is shorter than the duration (&#x394;t) of the media segment. Further, a corresponding network node for throttling a media stream is provided. Embodiments of the invention are advantageous in that bursty traffic is generated, resulting in a more efficient usage of air interface resources and reduced power consumption.

The network node sets a waiting threshold for the UE and communicates data with the UE over a radio link. Delivering a plurality of simultaneous sessions to a client via a radio access network

The invention relates to a method and entity that allow for saving of uplink bandwidth in connection with peer-to-peer sharing in a wireless communication system. A caching entity, called a reverse cache, intercepts a point-to-point connection between a mobile network user plane gateway and a wireless user equipment running a peer-to-peer application. The reverse cache caches content loaded to the peer-to-peer application and stores information indicative of the wireless user equipment to which the cached content is loaded. A request on the point-to-point connection for delivery of a first content from the wireless user equipment is intercepted by the reverse cache. When the requested first content is cached in the reverse cache along with information indicating that the requested first content has been loaded to the wireless user equipment, the reverse cache responds by delivering the requested first content, without involving the wireless user equipment.
