A bearing element is provided which has at least three individual annular segments which are each combined to form a homogeneous, inherently fixed bearing element. The individual annular segments each abut against at least two further annular segments and are interconnected by connecting means.

Rudder bearing

In order to indicate a Kort nozzle configured rotatable around the rudder axis of a ship, for which the occurrence of recirculations or of swirls is avoided or reduced even with an angular position with respect to a longitudinal axis of the ship and a globally uniform flow pattern adjusts as far as possible, at least one opening is provided in each of two central areas of a nozzle ring enveloping a ship's propeller.

A rudder () for ships with a swivellable rudder blade () and a fin () hinged thereon as well as with a fin control device (S) having control elements which is placed outside the rudder blade () in bearing vicinity between a hull () and the rudder blade (), it is provided that protecting guiding elements (L) are fixed to a ship part laterally from the control elements for the protection of the fin control against external influences such as pressure, stroke and impact shock.

Rudder for ships

A rudder for ships having a rudder blade which has a leading edge and a trailing edge. The rudder blade has two superimposed rudder blade sections; the leading edge sections of which are offset such that a first leading edge section is offset port or starboard and a second leading edge section is offset starboard or port. The first leading edge section has a port-sided offset surface which projects over the second leading edge section, and the second leading edge section has a starboard-sided offset surface which projects over the first leading edge section. A flow body is configured so that its dimensions are adapted to the dimensions of the offset surfaces. The flow body covers the offset surfaces and is arranged in the area of both offset surfaces.

A high performance full spade rudder for ships includes a rudder blade, a rudder trunk and a rudder post. The rudder blade widens from the leading edge to a central area which constitutes the widest point of the rudder profile. The rudder blade profile tapers from the central area to a narrow rear area and widens again from the rear area to the trailing edge. A bearing is placed in an inner longitudinal bore of the rudder trunk for bearing the rudder post, wherein the bearing penetrates with its free end into a recess, taper or the like in the rudder blade. No bearing is provided between the rudder blade and the rudder trunk. The bearing for the rudder post is placed in the rudder trunk in the area of the free end of the rudder trunk.

High performance rudder for ships

In a rudder for ships composed of a rudder blade with a rudder post () held and supported in a rudder trunk (), the rudder trunk () is made of a fiber composite material and is inserted into a nautical outer trunk tube () made of steel or of another appropriate material prepared by a shipyard, extending into the lower edge of the head box and inserted into the rudder blade (). After alignment of the rudder trunk () in the nautical trunk tube (), the intermediate space between both components () is cast with a cast resin, or both components () are bonded together.

A device (), for the checking and measurement of the journal bearing clearance between the outer bearing on the rudder shaft () of a rudder for water-borne craft and the inner bearing () on the rudder trunk () corresponding with the outer bearing (), is characterized by a measurement rail () made of a springy elastic material having internal stiffness, which can be introduced by means of a guide rail (), provided with a grip-type handle (), into the gap between the outer bearing and the inner bearing and hence into the clearance measurement region, with a measurement probe () located at its free end () for the clearance width measurement, wherein the measurement rail () with the measurement probe () with a prescribed thickness (a) are exchanged for measurement rails with measurement probes with other thicknesses until the achievement of an agreement of the clearance width with the thickness of a measurement rail () with the measurement probe ().
