Method and system for starting an internal combustion engine that rotates a drive shaft providing torque to a driving wheel via a transmission unit comprising a first clutch connecting the engine to an input shaft of a gearbox connected to a torque converter. The torque converter is connected to a second clutch connected to the driving wheel through a transmission, and the input shaft is connected to an auxiliary drive source in an offset arrangement with a predetermined torque ratio between the input shaft and the auxiliary drive source. Starting the engine comprises disengaging the first clutch, disengaging the second clutch to a predetermined torque level, accelerating the input shaft and the torque converter with the auxiliary drive source to a predetermined rotational speed, and engaging the first clutch to start the engine with the energy stored in the input shaft, the torque converter, and the auxiliary drive source.

The present invention relates to a vehicle comprising: an internal combustion engine operable to rotate a crank shaft of the internal combustion engine; a transmission; at least one driving wheel rotationally connected to the transmission; a damping system arranged between the internal combustion engine and the transmission for dampening irregularity motions of the crank shaft, the damping system comprising an output splined portion; wherein the transmission is arranged for controllably rotationally connecting the output splined portion of the damping system to provide torque from the internal combustion engine to the at least one driving wheel via the transmission, wherein the output splined portion of the damping system is adapted to mate with a splined portion of a coupling shaft of the transmission for connecting the crank shaft to the transmission via the damping system.

A powertrain is provided with a combustion engine, a front drive axle, a longitudinal drive shaft, and a rear drive axle, whereby the combustion engine is connected to a front drive axle, the longitudinal drive shaft, and the rear drive axle, such that the combustion engine can be in drive connection with the front drive axle, the longitudinal drive shaft, and the rear drive axle. The rear drive axle is provided with a hybrid drive module that comprises at least one drive unit and a transfer gear set. The transfer gear set comprises an input, an output, and a first connection clutch provided operatively in between the input and the output, whereby the output of the transfer gear set is adapted to be in drive connection with the rear drive axle. The longitudinal drive shaft is provided with a second connection clutch and, the first connection clutch and the second connection clutch are hydraulically controlled and are connected to a same hydraulic circuit.

A dual-clutch seven speed transmission arrangement comprises a dual-clutch gearbox, a drive machine and a transfer transmission. The dual clutch gearbox comprises first and second input shafts provided with first and second input clutches. The first input shaft is provided with at least first and second gearwheels, which are arranged to host three even and one reverse drive gear, and the second input shaft is arranged to host four odd drive gears. Furthermore, the first input shaft is a hollow shaft enclosing the second input shaft. The drive machine is a flywheel and the transfer transmission meshes with the first gearwheel that also hosts a fourth drive gear of the dual clutch gearbox.

A hybrid vehicle comprises an internal combustion engine, a transmission, at least one driving wheel rotationally connected to the transmission, and a coupling arrangement arranged between the internal combustion engine and the transmission, and controllable between a first state in which a drive shaft of the engine is rotationally connected to the transmission and a second state in which the drive shaft of the engine is rotationally disconnected from the transmission. The vehicle further comprises an energy recovery device connected to the coupling arrangement via a flexible driving member for allowing recovery and storage of energy recovered from deceleration of the at least one driving wheel. The vehicle may further comprise a sensor for sensing a parameter value indicative of desired deceleration, and a control unit for controlling the coupling arrangement to the second state when the sensed parameter value indicates desired deceleration of the hybrid vehicle.
