A method and apparatus for transferring formed adhesive elements from a reservoir () containing plural formed adhesive elements () to a bonding part attachable to a glass surface or other substrate through the use of adhesives. Transfer of the formed adhesive element to the bonding part () is accomplished by use of a vacuum tool () having a vacuum outlet, an internal plenum, and a series of vacuum lines formed in an adhesive element holding face. The vacuum tool is positioned over a reservoir of formed adhesive elements. Once the formed adhesive elements have been captured by the vacuum tool () the tool is used to place them into contact with the heated bonding part () directly or indirectly by intermediate placement onto a matrix () having a plurality of ejector pins () movably fitted therein. The ejector pins move the formed adhesive elements into position against the bonding part.

Pick and bond method and apparatus for attachment of adhesive element to substrate

A method and apparatus for positioning, holding and moving formed adhesive elements () to a heated bonding part () are disclosed. The apparatus includes a hopper () movably positioned over a matrix plate (). The matrix plate includes a nesting matrix () defined by formed adhesive element-receiving apertures (). An ejector system () is fitted beneath the matrix plate and includes a body () having a vacuum chamber () with an air inlet () and an air exhaust (). The chamber is fluidly continuous with the apertures formed in the matrix plate (). The ejector system includes a lifting body to which ejector stamps (') and an inlet shut off shaft are attached. Channels for the ejector stamps are formed in the body of the ejector system. The ejector stamps are movably fitted in the apertures and the channels. In operation, the hopper () slides over the matrix and deposits formed adhesive elements into the apertures (), then slides away.

Method and apparatus for placing adhesive element on a matrix

A method for the attachment of a formed adhesive element (') to a hot bonding part () in a practical and efficient way is disclosed. The formed adhesive element may be attached to the hot bonding part by the end-user prior to attachment of the hot bonding part to the substrate. In order to attach the formed adhesive element (&#x2032;) to the bonding part according to the disclosed invention, the bonding part () is heated then is moved in position over the formed adhesive element positioned on a detent of a matrix plate (). Thereafter the hot bonding part is moved into contact with the formed adhesive element or the formed adhesive element is moved against the hot bonding part. The bonding part, now having the formed adhesive element attached, is ready for attachment to the substrate. One or more formed adhesive elements may be attached to the bonding part. Attachment of the formed adhesive elements to the bonding part may be done manually or mechanically.

A device for fastening a rectangular sensor to a support part has a base plate () in which a receiving recess () is made. Guide walls () are integrally formed on mutually opposite edge sides () of the receiving recess (), said guide walls extending between two corner regions () of the receiving recess (), which corner regions end an edge side (). Furthermore, stop parts () which are shorter than the length of the guide walls () are integrally formed on the other edge sides (), in each case in the central region thereof, the stop parts each having at least one stop section () oriented at right angles to the base plate (), wherein the guide sections () and the stop sections () bear against a wall of the sensor when the sensor is fitted. As a result, even sensors of relatively large dimensions can be fastened to the support part in a stable and accurately fitting manner with relatively little expenditure on material.

The present cover is used for permanent sealing of an oval-shaped processing hole () in aluminum sheet metal () by means of an adhesive joint. The cover consists of a circular cover plate () of aluminum with a concentric cover edge () and a ring-shaped strip () of hot-melt adhesive applied within the cover edge (). The interior region of the cover plate () is connected to a spring plate () aligned plane-parallel with the cover plate at a spacing of the thickness of the aluminum sheet metal (). The outer edge () of the spring plate () has a contour that corresponds to the shape of the oval processing hole () and includes quarter-circular spring tongues () which are brought to a tight fit by spring force against the back side of the aluminum sheet metal () by a quarter turn of the cover plate to produce the necessary pressure on the adhesive strip ().

The inventive windscreen washer jet is used for spraying front or rear windscreens of automobiles and consists of the following: a housing ( ) with a connector tube ( ) for the spray water and a chamber ( ) for integrating a jet chip ( ). Said chip has a central opening through which the water flows ( ) and from which several semicircular channels ( ) are guided outwards in a fan shape. The channels ( ) formed in the chip ( ) are open towards one end and are blocked off by the chamber walls after the jet has been inserted, so that they are watertight. The channels ( ) are formed in the chip ( ) in such a way that the width (b) of the channel narrows towards the discharge area and they have a depth of 0.1 to max. 0.2 mm and a width of 0.2 mm to max. 0.4 mm at the discharge end. This ensures that the water jet is discharged at high speed and is therefore able to wet the vehicle windscreen more effectively.

The present connector for liquid-conducting, plug-type connections consists of a hose nipple (2) formed on the coupling (1) and pluggable into the connecting end of a flexible plastic hose (3). The nipple has at its free end a conically widening, beveled plug edge (4) and an adjoining cylindrical shaft portion (5) with several truncated expansions (6) and (7), as well as an annular contact flange (8) at the end of the plug-in area (E) portion. The back side of the first truncated expansion portion (6) has a conical taper portion (9). Between the expansion portion (6) and the taper portion (9) an encircling groove (10) is provided, in which is embedded a gasket ring (11) circular in cross section. In order that the end of the hose or tube can be easily slipped over the nipple and the gasket ring, the surface (M1) of the first truncated expansion portion (6) outwardly at an angle .alpha. of about 45.degree. in relation to the surface of the shaft (5) and is oriented so as to provide a slight clearance (a) past the outer surface (14) of the gasket ring (11). The surface (M2) of the succeeding taper portion (9) has a significantly flatter angle of inclination .beta. of about 20.degree.-30.degree. in relation to the surface area of the shaft (5) and its rearward projection is tangent to the outer surface (14) of the gasket ring.
