A surgical lamp and a method for illuminating a surgical field on a human body by the surgical lamp are provided. The surgical lamp comprises a lamp body (), a control device () and at least one separate function module (). The lamp body () comprises at least one illuminant () for illuminating the surgical field and at least one interface having a first fixation device (), a power supply terminal () and/or a data connection device (). The control device () is provided for controlling the at least one illuminant () and is connected to the data connection device () of the at least one first interface for data transmission. The at least one function module () comprises a second interface, having a second fixation device (), a second power supply terminal () and/or a second data connection device (), being compatible to the first interface and that can be docked thereto. Further, the lamp body () comprises a recognition device for recognizing a type of a docked function module () and the control device () is configured to control the at least one illuminant () depending on the type of the docked function module ().

Surgical light and method for operating a surgical light

A surgical lamp includes a lamp body having at least one light source, wherein at least one bundle of light is emitted from the lamp body, a focusing device disposed in the lamp body for focusing the at least one bundle of light, and an operating device that is directly or indirectly connected to the focusing device and is configured to be covered by a sterilizable cover, where the operating device is configured to detect a predetermined motion sequence of an operator in a contactless manner and control the focusing device as a result of the predetermined motion sequence.

Surgical lamps and related systems and methods

A medical supply unit includes a bus system for transmitting instructions of control elements to actuators. The bus system is provided with transmitters and receivers being connected to each other by a transmission system. Via the transmission system, commands of the transmitters are transmitted, which are controlled by the control elements, and the responsive receiver transfers the command to a switching instruction at an output of the responsive receiver so as to control an actuator.
