The invention relates to a spinning station () of a spinning machine, wherein the spinning station () has a spinning means () for producing a yarn () from a sliver () fed to the spinning means (), wherein the spinning station () has a winding apparatus () for winding the yarn () onto a package (), said winding apparatus () being arranged downstream of the spinning means () in a transport direction of the yarn (), wherein the spinning station () has a yarn clearer () arranged between the spinning means () and the winding apparatus (), the yarn being monitorable for yarn defects with the aid of said yarn clearer (), and wherein the spinning station () is assigned a controller () which is configured to interrupt the production of the yarn () if a defined yarn defect is detected. The invention proposes that the spinning station () has an information unit () with the aid of which it is possible to display to an operator of the spinning station () how much yarn () has to be at least unwound from the package () located in the winding apparatus () following the interruption to the yarn production in order to ensure that the yarn section having the yarn defect has been completely removed from the package (). Furthermore, a yarn clearer and a method for operating a spinning station are proposed.

Yarn clearer and spinning station, equipped therewith, of a spinning machine, and method for operating a spinning station

A method improves a winding process of a textile machine and a winding station of a textile machine having a machine controller (), a yarn sensor (), a yarn quality monitor, in particular a yarn clearer (), and a yarn connecting device, in particular a splicing device (). A yarn () is wound onto a bobbin (). The yarn () is analyzed with regard to its length, quality, and/or speed, and is cut if necessary in order to clear a quality defect and two yarn ends are connected to one another by means of the yarn connecting device after the quality defect has been removed. The yarn () is analyzed with regard to foreign material, yarn speed, and/or yarn length by means of a capacitive yarn sensor (), and is analyzed with regard to the yarn body and the yarn characteristic by means of an optical yarn quality monitor. The yarn () is subsequently optionally cleared. Data of the capacitive yarn sensor () with regard to the foreign material and/or the yarn speed is provided to the yarn quality monitor, in particular the yarn clearer (), and with regard to the yarn length and/or the yarn speed are provided to the machine controller ().

Method and winding station for improving a winding process of a textile machine

The invention relates to a method for monitoring the quality of a yarn on a textile machine, wherein the yarn passes a monitoring unit of the textile machine, with the aid of which at least one measured variable (M) which is dependent on a physical parameter of the yarn is determined, and wherein the measured variable (M), or a variable derived therefrom, is evaluated with respect to the position thereof with regard to at least one reference value (R). According to the invention, it is proposed that the selection of the reference value(s) (R) takes place taking into account one or more characteristic variables of the yarn, said characteristic variables being yarn-specific and defined prior to evaluating the measured variable (M). Furthermore, a textile machine is proposed which comprises at least one monitoring unit for monitoring at least one physical parameter of the yarn, and at least one controller which is operatively connected to the monitoring unit. The textile machine is characterized in that the controller is configured to monitor the yarn quality according to one or more of the preceeding claims.

Yarn monitoring method

An open-end spinning device of a rotor spinning machine has a spinning rotor with a rotor cup, in which fiber material is spun, and with a rotor shaft through which the spinning rotor is driven. A bearing is arranged in a contactless way with a drive to drive the spinning rotor. A rotor housing is provided in which the rotor cup is arranged and which is impinged with spinning negative pressure (p) during spinning operation through a negative pressure channel. A drive housing is provided in which the rotor shaft of the spinning rotor extends, and in which the drive and the bearing of the spinning rotor are arranged. The rotor housing and the drive housing are arranged spaced apart from one another in the open-end spinning device in the axial direction of the rotor shaft. In a method to operate such an open-end spinning device, the rotor housing is impinged with spinning negative pressure (p) during the spinning operation. Air current is prevented from flowing from the rotor housing into the drive housing by arranging the rotor housing and the drive housing spaced apart from one another in the axial direction of the rotor shaft.

The invention refers to an opening cylinder for an open-end spinning device with a core piece and a tooth-set carrier capable of rotating around a common rotating axis and detachably connected to one another by means of a quick-locking mechanism. The quick-locking mechanism is executed as a turn-lock fastener, so that the tooth-set carrier is detachably connected to it by means of a rotational movement around the rotational axis relative to the core piece.

A fiber channel insert is applicable in a mounting hole of an opening roller housing of an open-end spinning arrangement, whereby the fiber channel insert comprises a fiber channel body and a section of the fiber channel. The fiber channel body extends with its major axis essentially transversely to a major axis of the fiber channel. An open-end spinning arrangement with a spinning element and an opening roller housing, in which an opening roller is arranged in a rotatable way includes a fiber channel that transports the fiber material to be spun from the opening roller to the spinning element. A section of the fiber channel is provided in a fiber channel insert that is insertable in a mounting opening of the opening roller housing, the fiber channel insert having a primarily cylindrical fiber channel body. The fiber channel body extends with its major axis essentially transversely to a major axis of the fiber channel, and the fiber channel insert is primarily insertable axially parallel to the opening roller axis.

An exchangeable adapter is provided for reducing the size of a trash removal opening of an opening roller housing in open-end spinning arrangements. The said adapter comprises two semi-spherical supporting surfaces at a distance to one another for positioning the adapter on corresponding rounded countersurfaces. The adapter comprises further a curved fiber guiding surface corresponding to the curve of an opening roller as well as a boundary wall for reducing the size of the trash removal opening arranged directly upstream of the fiber guiding surface. The adapter is made from profiled bars and cut to the required effective width. The fiber guiding surface can be provided with a recess which is connected with the external atmosphere and which permits the entry of air into the opening roller housing.

The invention is relative to opening devices for spinning machines, especially open-end spinning machines, that are provided with clothing wires or rings for separating fibers of a supplied sliver. The opening device is characterized in that the clothing wires are pre-bent in accordance with the geometry of a carrier ring, or the clothing rings have the desired geometry of the finished part, and that the particular workpiece surfaces have an at least two-coating construction in which an outer coating is a hard-substance coating. The hard-substance coating consists entirely or partially of especially hard hard-substance components and rests on a substrate layer located underneath it.

Opening device for spinning machines

The hollow interior of an open-end spinning rotor is defined by an inner contour, which comprises a fiber sliding surface and a fiber collecting groove. The front surface of the open-end spinning rotor may have an opening width of between 19 and 23 mm, the fiber sliding surface may have a tapering of a maximum of 10&#xb0;, and while the diameter of the fiber collecting groove may measure less than 30 mm.

An open-end spinning rotor has its thinnest wall thickness in the area of its fiber collecting groove. The lateral wall of the open-end spinning rotor comprises an outer contour, which&#x2014;in axial section&#x2014;is at least partly convex-shaped. The wall thickness of the lateral wall is increased along a portion of its length by a curved widening contour.

A combing ring for an opening roller of an open-end spinning arrangement is provided with at least two surface coatings, one applied on top of the other. Of these two coatings, the bottom one is a wear-resistant, harder PVD coating, while the upper one is a less hard, but fiber-friendly coating having a maximum thickness of 5 &#x3bc;m, preferably a chemical nickel coating. The bottom PVD coating comprises in a known way so-called droplets, whereby the thickness of the top coating is at least equal to the height of the droplets.

Combing ring for an opening roller of an open-end spinning arrangement and method of making same

A rotor shaft of an open-end spinning rotor is provided with a peg-like shaft end having a reduced diameter. The shaft end has a front-end supporting surface which can be arranged to a step bearing, said supporting surface being provided with a wear-resistant insert. The reduced diameter of the peg-like shaft end is at least 0.68 times the diameter of the rotor shaft. In addition, the reduced diameter of the shaft end measures at least 0.82 times the length of the peg-like shaft end.

A brake block for a brake of an open-end spinning rotor includes a take-up for releasable affixing to a brake block support. The brake block has at least two braking surfaces, whereby one braking surface in relation to the supporting surface of the open-end spinning rotor is, in comparison to the other braking surface, set back a certain distance. The result is that, during the first operational application of the brake block, only one braking surface touches the open-end spinning rotor, while the other braking surface comes into effect only after a predetermined amount of wear of the first braking surface.

A bobbin plate is described which is provided with yarn catching slits, with whose aid a yarn reserve winding is formed on a rotating empty bobbin tube. The bobbin plate comprises a base body as well as a nipping ring which can be pressed onto the base body and which nipping ring is flexible at its front side. The base body as well as the nipping ring are each provided with yarn catching slits in such a way that the caught thread can be nipped between the base body and the nipping ring. The supporting surface, on which the bobbin tube is disposed on the nipping ring, is so designed that a relative motion between the bobbin plate and bobbin tube is prevented.
