A method and system of discovering materials for use in carbon dioxide separation includes extracting references to chemical molecules from online sources. The extracted references are encoded into chemical formulas. Molecular properties are calculated from the encoded chemical formulas. Features are extracted from the chemical formulas. Molecular properties of predicted molecular structures are predicted through a machine learning engine. The predicted molecular properties are based on the calculated molecular properties and extracted features. Target properties for predicted molecular structures are defined. Synthesized molecular structures are generated. The synthesized molecular structures include predicted molecular properties satisfying the defined target properties.

Generating and validating optimized membranes for carbon dioxide separation in binary gas

A computer implemented method for generating query results includes generating by a computer processor, a training model through artificial intelligence. The training model is based on annotated data. A knowledge base for a subject matter is generated based on the training model. The knowledge base is based on content from document sources related to the subject matter. A natural language query input is received. An intent and requirements for satisfying the intent is inferred by the computer processor. The knowledge base is referenced to extract information related to the intent and requirements, from documents in the knowledge base. Relationships between the extracted information and the requirements are correlated from the documents in the knowledge base. Query results are displayed to the user. The query results are based on the correlated relationships.

Artificial intelligence based materials discovery building from documents and recommendations

A system may include a chamber with a main sub-chamber and a first porous membrane separating a first sub-chamber from the main sub-chamber. The system may include a fluid in the chamber and an input directing inflow into main sub-chamber proximate an entry end of the chamber. The system may include a first output permitting outflow from the first sub-chamber proximate an exit end of the chamber wherein a molecule entering at the entry end must traverse a length of the chamber to exit at the exit end.

A hybrid microfluidics device includes a substrate having a base region with a width and a length. A paper has testing regions disposed along the width of the base region. A cover has an angled relationship with the base region to form a wedge profile to provide a length-wise droplet pump effect to separately maintain channel-less regions for the testing regions.

Two-system gas stream separation

A multiplexed lateral flow device includes an impermeable internal reservoir having an opening to receive a sample deposition. A fluid distributor pad is arranged in fluid communication with a lower surface of the internal reservoir. The fluid distributor pad includes a paper based microfluidic element having a pattern of a hydrophobic material to distribute a portion of the sample deposition substantially equally among a plurality of flow paths. Lateral flow assays having a plurality of flow lines are aligned with flow paths of the distributor pad. An impermeable top cover has a first window arranged over the opening of the internal reservoir, and at least a second window arranged over the test results of the lateral flow assays. A housing element houses the reservoir, the distributor pad and lateral flow assays. The housing element includes an impermeable bottom cover and a spacer element arranged between the top and bottom covers and, provides a gap between the lateral flow assays and the impermeable top cover.

Multiplexed lateral flow assay device

A validation method applied to sensor data prior to submitting to a blockchain, a computer program product, and a system for validating chemical data. One embodiment may comprise receiving a sensor captured result at an application, applying the sensor captured result to a domain-specific statistical model of expected range of variability of measured results to extract a distribution of expected sensor values, computing a confidence value in the sensor captured result using the domain-specific statistical model, validating the confidence value against a required threshold of confidence, and submitting the sensor captured result for appending to the blockchain if the confidence level is validated against the threshold of confidence.

Validating test results using a blockchain network

Provided are embodiments for a computer-implemented method, system, and device for tracking multiphase flow in a microfluidic device. Embodiments include receiving first readings from a first sensor of the microfluidic device, the first reading representing a detection of a fluid at an interface between the fluid and the first sensor, and receiving second readings from a second sensor of the microfluidic device, the second readings representing a detection of the fluid at an interface between the fluid and the second sensor, wherein the first sensor is located at a distance from the second sensor. Embodiments also include calculating a flow speed of the fluid in the microfluidic device based at least in part on a difference of time between the detections by the first sensor and the second sensor, and the distance between the first sensor and the second sensor.

Electrical tracking of a multiphase microfluidic flow

Method, apparatus, and computer program product are provided for anonymized diagnosis using lateral flow assays. In some embodiments, a test card includes one or more lateral flow assay (LFA) with one or more test patterns (e.g., full line, partial line, dot), one or more dummy patterns, and one or more control patterns. To visually encode LFA results, at manufacture, one or more lines/dots containing true results of the LFA(s) each has a position mixed with other 'dummy' lines/dots, in randomized position patterns selected from among a plurality of possible position patterns. An optical machine-readable representation of data (e.g., QR code) is attached to the test card and encodes test card identification information (e.g., lot number, serial number, test type) associated with the test card. In some embodiments, a passcode card having a scrapeable coating that conceals a passcode associated with the test card is removably attached to the test card.

Anonymized diagnosis via lateral flow assays

A multiplexed testing strip testing device includes a hydrophobic paper-based strip housing element configured for placement of one or more testing strips. One or more alignment markers on the hydrophobic paper-based housing element are marked to facilitate placement of the one or more testing strips. A cover element is arranged above the strip housing element and includes a machine-readable test identifier on an upper surface. A removably attached filtering element is arranged on the hydrophobic paper-based strip housing element.

Multiplexed testing strip device

An assembly is provided for interfacing with a microfluidic chip having at least one microscopic channel configured to receive a liquid sample for analysis. The assembly includes a chip carrier, an electronics module, an optical module, and a mechanical module. The chip carrier includes a base and a cover defining a cavity to receive the microfluidic chip. The electronics module includes a signal generator which applies at least one electrokinetic signal electrode(s) of the chip. The optical module includes an excitation radiation source which causes excitation radiation to impinge on the sample, and an emission radiation detector which detects radiation emitted from the sample. The mechanical module includes a chip-carrier receiving structure, relatable with respect to the optical module for focus and at least one degree of translational freedom.

Operation of diagnostic devices involving microchannels and electrodes

Devices and methods for controlling collection of liquid sample are described. In an example, a microfluidic device can include an analytical device and an actuator. The actuator can be connected to the analytical device. The actuator can be operable to absorb fluid. The actuator can guide the absorbed fluid to an input layer of the analytical device. The actuator can deform in response to an occurrence of an absorption condition. A degree of deformation of the actuator indicates a volume of fluid collected by the analytical device.

Precise fluid input control for point-of-care devices

A multiplexed lateral flow assay device includes an impermeable internal reservoir having an opening to receive a sample deposition. An embodiment includes a sample receiving region, a first diagnostic element that includes one or more colorimetric analysis regions, and a second diagnostic element that includes one or more lateral flow assay analysis regions. The embodiment also includes a first flow path that allows a portion of a liquid deposited at the sample receiving region to flow to the first diagnostic element. The embodiment also includes a second flow path that allows a portion of the liquid deposited at the sample receiving region to flow to the second diagnostic element.
