Intraluminal devices and methods of fabricating intraluminal devices may be provided. In one implementation, an intraluminal device may be formed of a plurality of wires and may include a distal coil, a proximal coil, and an expandable mesh segment positioned between the distal and proximal coils. The distal coil, proximal coil, and expandable mesh segment may be formed as a single, unitary structure, with at least one wire of the plurality of wires extending continuously from the proximal coil to the distal coil.

An endovascular device, including an elongated flexible sheath defining a lumen with an inner opening sized for enabling selective advancement of an endovascular instrument therethrough, the sheath having at least a first region and a second region; an electrode within the first region of the sheath; and a constrictor associated with the first region of the sheath, the constrictor being configured, while at least the first region and the second region of the sheath are positioned within a body and in response to an input received from outside the body, to reversibly narrow the lumen of the sheath in an area adjacent the electrode to thereby bring the electrode into contact with an adjacent portion of the endovascular instrument.

A non-transitory computer readable medium containing instructions that when executed by at least one processor, cause the at least one processor to perform operations for monitoring partitioning of a medical instrument during an endovascular procedure. The operations may further be configured to obtain an input to activate a partitioning mechanism associated with a medical instrument within a lumen of a catheter, the catheter being positioned within a body. Further, embodiments may be configured in response to the input, to activate the partitioning mechanism. The operations may further be configured, following the activation, to obtain partitioning outcome data. The operations may determine, based on the partitioning outcome data, whether the medical instrument may be in a severed state or a connected state. The operations may, if the severed state of the medical instrument is detected, output a success notification. Some embodiments may be configured, if the connected state of the medical instrument is detected, to output at least one of (i) a control signal to vary activation of the partitioning mechanism or (ii) an instruction to reposition the medical instrument relative to the partitioning mechanism.

Systems and methods for endovascular coil detachment monitoring

An intraluminal device may be provided including an elongated structure formed of a plurality of wires. The intraluminal device may include at least one expandable mesh segment configured to engage an obstruction in a body lumen, wherein the plurality of wires may be arranged into sets of looped wires that overlap to form the expandable mesh segment. The intraluminal device may also include at least one clot anchoring segment that may be configured to trap the obstruction to prevent downstream movement of the obstruction relative to the intraluminal device.

An intraluminal guide wire may include an elongated shaft extending between a distal and a proximal end. The guide wire may include a user actuation segment positioned proximal to the proximal end of the shaft and configured for movement relative to the shaft. The guide wire may include a core wire affixed to the user actuation segment and the distal end of the shaft. The guide wire may also include an inner member having a proximal end situated at least partially within and fixed relative to the user actuation segment and a distal end situated partially within the shaft, the core wire passing through the inner member. The guide wire may be configured with a distal segment of the inner member within the shaft exhibiting a friction-based restraint on movement within the shaft. The friction-based restraint on movement may be a frictional force between the inner member and the shaft.

Consistent with disclosed embodiments, systems, devices, methods, and computer readable media for delivery of an endovascular instrument to a treatment site within a body may be provided. Embodiments may include a flexible, elongated sheath having a proximal end and a distal end. An embodiment may further include an inner wall of the sheath delimiting an inner lumen which may extend between the proximal end and the distal end of the sheath. The inner lumen may be sized to enable axial advancement of the endovascular instrument therethrough. The embodiments may also include at least one electrode within the distal section of the sheath. The electrode may be configured to selectively deliver an electric current through a segment of the endovascular instrument within the inner lumen.

Consistent with disclosed embodiments, systems, devices, methods, and computer readable media for filling a hollow body structure may be provided. In some implementations, an endovascular instrument for filling a hollow body structure may be provided and may include an elongated member configured to exhibit differing coiling properties along a length thereof. The elongated member may include a first region configured to bend within the hollow body structure to form a stabilizing frame. The elongated member may also include a second region located proximal to the first region and configured to bend, after formation of the frame, substantially within the frame, thereby forming a curved mass substantially within the frame. The first region and the second region may be interconnected. The embodiments may further include at least one structural property that differs between the first region and the second region.

An endovascular apparatus, including an elongated catheter having an inner lumen extending therethrough; a balloon affixed to the catheter for expansion into the inner lumen of the catheter when the balloon is inflated; and a tube secured relative to the balloon, wherein the tube is configured to enable selective inflation and deflation of the balloon, and wherein an outer diameter of a portion of the catheter adjacent the balloon is substantially the same when the balloon is inflated and when the balloon is deflated.

Endovascular and intravascular devices and methods of manufacturing endovascular and intravascular devices may be provided. In one implementation, an intravascular device including an elongated sheath and an elongated coil distal to the sheath may be provided. The coil may include a first coil segment formed from a plurality of wires helically-wound at a first coil angle; a second coil segment formed from a first subset of the plurality of wires that is helically-wound at a second coil angle that is different from the first coil angle; and a third coil segment formed from a second subset of the plurality of wires that is helically-wound at a third coil angle that is different from the first and second coil angles. The coil segments may be configured such that flexibility of the coil increases in a longitudinal direction toward the distal end of the coil.

Consistent with disclosed embodiments, systems, devices, methods, and computer readable media for monitoring and facilitating endovascular coil delivery may be provided. Embodiments may include obtaining a first input from a coil movement sensor associated with an endovascular coil within a lumen of a catheter positioned within a body. The catheter may include a coil partitioning mechanism configured to sever the endovascular coil. Embodiments may further include obtaining a second input to activate the coil partitioning mechanism. Embodiments may further include activating, in response to the second input, the coil partitioning mechanism to sever the endovascular coil into a first coil section for delivery and a residual second coil section. Embodiments may further include determining, based on at least the first input and the second input, a length of the second coil section and outputting a signal based on the determined length of the second coil section.

Systems and methods for facilitating endovascular coil delivery

An intraluminal device and a method of removing a clot from a body lumen with an intraluminal device may be provided. The intraluminal device may include a hollow elongated shaft and a radially-expandable mesh segment situated distal to the elongated shaft. The elongated shaft may be secured relative to a first portion of the mesh segment. The intraluminal device may additionally include a core wire affixed to a second portion of the mesh segment and extending through the elongated shaft. The elongated shaft may be configured to radially expand the mesh segment by axially moving the first portion of the mesh segment relative to the second portion of the mesh segment. In addition, the core wire may be configured to radially expand the mesh segment by axially moving the second portion of the mesh segment relative to the first portion of the mesh segment.

Radial expansion control mechanisms for intraluminal device

Intraluminal and endovascular devices and methods of manufacturing intraluminal and endovascular devices may be provided. In one implementation, an intraluminal device may include a sheath having a flexible distal bending segment and a core wire arranged within the sheath. The core wire may include a distal end portion doubled back in a loop within the sheath such that the distal tip of the core wire is situated proximally from the loop. The intraluminal device may also include a movement restrictor within the sheath that is configured to limit axial movement of the distal tip of the core wire. Limiting the axial movement of the core wire distal tip may cause the loop of the core wire to buckle, resulting in a bend in the distal bending segment of the sheath, when a force is exerted on the core wire.

In one exemplary embodiment, an endovascular device may include a hollow shaft having a proximal end and a distal end, and sized for insertion into a blood vessel. The endovascular device may also include a control line having a proximal end and a distal end, and extending through the hollow shaft. The endovascular device may also include an actuatable working element located proximate the distal end of the hollow shaft, and configured to receive an actuation force transmitted via the distal end of the control line. The endovascular device may further include an actuator configured to exert the actuation force on the proximal end of the control line, to thereby cause relative movement between the control line and the hollow shaft and to actuate the working element. The hollow shaft may also include a cable formed of a plurality of wound wires and including a proximal segment, at least one transition segment, and a distal segment. The proximal segment, at least one transition segment, and distal segment may include different numbers of wires.

An endovascular device including a hollow shaft having a proximal end and a distal end, and sized for insertion into a blood vessel, may be provided. The endovascular device may also include a control line configured to extend through the hollow shaft and an actuatable working portion situated distally from the distal end of the hollow shaft and configured to receive an actuation force transmitted via the control line. The endovascular device may further include an actuator configured to exert the actuation force on the control line to cause relative movement between the control line and the hollow shaft and to actuate the working portion. The endovascular device may also include a rotation restriction barrier configured to substantially impede the control line from rotating relative to the working portion, while permitting relative axial movement between the control line and the hollow shaft.
