Provided are a mass spectrometer and a method for controlling the same capable of suppressing decrease in sensitivity even where the atmospheric pressure around the mass spectrometer varies. The mass spectrometer includes an ion source, a mass analysis unit, a control unit, and a storage unit. The ion source includes an ion source chamber, an inlet, a first gas introduction port, a second gas introduction port, an outlet, and a gas discharge port. The storage unit stores a table indicating a relationship between a measurement condition and a flow rate of the second gas. The control unit changes the flow rate of the second gas according to the measurement condition on the basis of the table, and controls a flow rate of the first gas to suppress a variation in a pressure inside the ion source chamber.

Mass spectrometer and method for controlling same

There are provided an ion source that can accurately and efficiently grasp whether a tip end position on a capillary downstream side is proper and a control method therefor. An ion source according to an embodiment of the present invention measures an electric current generated due to the application of a voltage to a capillary by a power supply when a sample is not introduced into the capillary. When the electric current is within tolerance, the ion source outputs projection amount information expressing that the projection amount of the capillary is proper, and the ion source outputs the projection amount information expressing that the projection amount is improper when the projection amount is not within the tolerance.

A mass spectrometer includes an ion source, an ion guide, a quadrupole mass filter, a detector, DC and RF power sources, and a voltage control device for controlling an acceleration voltage by controlling the power source. The voltage controller controls the acceleration voltage such that it is increased as the mass-to-charge ratio of ions to be measured is increased within a control region. The control region is surrounded, having one coordinate axis representing the mass-to-charge ratio of the ions passing the ion guide and another axis representing the acceleration voltage applied to the ion guide, by a line representing a lower limit of a stable region where the ions pass the ion guide stably, a line representing an ion mobility of the ions, an upper side representing an upper limit of the acceleration voltage, and a lower side representing a value at which the acceleration voltage is zero.

Mass spectrometry device control method, mass spectrometry system, and voltage control device

In a mass spectrometer, due to impurities accumulated inside a frame, a withstand voltage may decrease, and electric discharge may occur in an ion source, thereby making it impossible to perform normal measurement. Since a result of abnormality measurement due to the electric discharge cannot be distinguished from measurement abnormality caused by clogging of a tube between a pretreatment unit and a needle, there is a problem in that time is required to identify abnormal portions, and a maintenance property is lowered. As a unit for solving the problem, a return current detection unit connected in series between the frame and an ion source power supply that applies a voltage to the needle and a return current detection unit connected in series between the frame and a counter electrode power supply that applies a voltage to a counter electrode are provided.

Mass spectrometer and mass spectrometry method

Provided are an ion source and a mass spectrometer that reduce a dead volume of the connecting part of a pipe to a capillary. An ion source has a capillary and a pipe. The capillary has a large-diameter part that forms a capillary upstream-side end face on an upstream side. The large-diameter part has a large-diameter part downstream side face on a downstream side. The pipe has a pipe downstream end face on the downstream side. A capillary retaining unit has a hole through which the capillary downstream-side end face is passable and a face on which the large-diameter part downstream side face is installable. The ion source includes a pipe retaining unit that retains the pipe. The capillary retaining unit and the pipe retaining unit are disposed such that the capillary upstream-side end face contacts the pipe downstream end face to connect the capillary to the pipe.

Provided is a technique for accurately determining a performance of a single detector that detects ions having passed through a mass analysis unit. A mass analysis system according to the present disclosure includes, in a mass analysis device, a first converter configured to calculate a first measured value based on an intensity and an area of a pulse in an electric signal output from the detector configured to detect the ions having passed through the mass analysis unit, a second converter configured to obtain a second measured value by counting the number of pulses of the electric signal, a calculation unit configured to calculate an A/P ratio indicating a ratio of the first measured value to the second measured value, a determination unit configured to determine a performance of the detector based on a value of the A/P ratio, and a control unit configured to control at least an output of a determination result obtained by the determination unit.

The present invention implements an ion detector with which it is possible to avoid direct collisions of negative ions with a scintillator, prevent degradation of the scintillator, prolong life of the scintillator, reduce the need for maintenance, and perform highly sensitive detection of both positive and negative ions. With respect to a reference lineconnecting a central pointof a positive ion CDand a central pointof a counter electrode, a central pointof a negative ion CDis provided in a region of a side opposite to a region of a side of a central pointof a scintillator. A liquid chromatograph mass spectrometer specifying a location where a flow path is clogged and recovering in a short time. The liquid chromatograph mass spectrometer includes a first flow path passing through a separation column, a second flow path not passing through the separation column, a mass spectrometry unit on the downstream side of the first and second flow paths that analyzes a sample that has passed through the first flow path, a first valve for connecting any one of the first and second flow paths to the mass spectrometry unit, and a controller for controlling driving of the first valve connecting the first flow path to the mass spectrometric unit, comparing the measured value of the mass spectrometric unit with a predetermined threshold value, and connecting the second flow path to the mass spectrometry unit when it is determined to be abnormal.

A substance analyzer that includes, to enhance selectivity of substance analysis, the following: a heater that heats a medium for collecting a chemical substance adhering to a surface of an inspection object; a mass spectrometer that performs tandem mass spectrometry of vapor derived from the chemical substance heated and vaporized by the heater from the medium; and a control device that causes the mass spectrometer to perform, based on a temperature of the medium in the heater, tandem mass spectrometry for the chemical substance that is vaporized at the temperature of the medium using the vapor sent from the heater to the mass spectrometer.

An object of the present invention is to improve the safety and stability of an ion source by making a temperature distribution of a heated gas uniform while ensuring heat insulating properties. The ion source according to the present invention includes a gas introduction port inside a probe holder that holds an ion probe. The supporting portions each have a cuboid shape, and are installed such that a distance therebetween becomes smaller toward a direction of a recovery opening that is configured to collect substances having been detached from an inspection object, from the gas.

An object of the invention is to improve uniformity of a standard sample used for evaluating a gas flow type analysis system. The invention includes weighing a background into a container; adding a sample solution to the background; drying the sample solution; adding a solvent that can dissolve the sample into the container; and drying the solvent added to the container.
