An organic EL display device includes a pixel electrode which is disposed in each of first to third organic EL elements, a first light emission layer which includes a first dopant material having a first absorbance peak, the first light emission layer extending over the first to third organic EL elements and being disposed above the pixel electrode, a second light emission layer which includes a second dopant material having a second absorbance peak and is disposed above the first light emission layer, a third light emission layer which is disposed above the second light emission layer, a counter-electrode which is disposed above the third light emission layer, and a hole transport layer which is formed of a material having an absorbance bottom on a shorter wavelength side than the first absorbance peak and the second absorbance peak in absorbance spectrum characteristics of the hole transport layer.

Organic EL display device

According to one embodiment, an organic EL device includes a first organic EL element, a second organic EL element and a third organic EL element. The first organic EL element has a first electrode, a second electrode, and a first emitting layer. The second organic EL element has a third electrode, a fourth electrode, and a second emitting layer. At least a part of the first emitting layer extends on the second emitting layer. A third organic EL element has a fifth electrode, a sixth electrode, and a third emitting layer. At least a part of the first and the second emitting layers extends on the third emitting layer. A thickness of the first emitting layer between the first and the second electrodes is thicker than a thickness of the first emitting layer extending on the second and the third emitting layers.

Organic EL device and method for manufacturing the same

According to one embodiment, an organic EL device includes an insulating substrate, first and second interlayer insulators, pixel electrodes, an organic layer, and a counter electrode. The first interlayer insulator is positioned above the insulating substrate. The second interlayer insulator is positioned on the first interlayer insulator and provided with slits. The pixel electrodes are arranged on the second interlayer insulator. Two or more of the pixels are adjacent to each other with one of regions corresponding to the slits interposed therebetween. The organic layer is positioned on the pixel electrodes and includes an emitting layer. The counter electrode is positioned above the organic layer.

Organic EL device

An organic EL display includes an array of electrodes including first and second electrodes, a counter electrode, and an organic layer including a first emitting layer interposed between the array of electrodes and the counter electrode and a second emitting layer interposed between the first emitting layer and the counter electrode. Each of the first and second emitting layers is a continuous layer extending over a display region. Portions of a laminate including the array of electrodes, the organic layer and the counter electrode that correspond to the first and second electrodes form first and second organic EL elements different in luminous colors from each other.

Organic EL display and method of manufacturing the same

An organic EL display device includes a first light emission layer which includes a first dopant material having a first absorbance peak in absorbance spectrum characteristics and a first host material having a first absorbance bottom on a shorter wavelength side than the first absorbance peak, the first light emission layer extending over the first to third organic EL elements and being disposed above pixel electrodes of the first to third organic EL elements, and a second light emission layer which includes a second dopant material having a second absorbance peak in absorbance spectrum characteristics and a second host material having a second absorbance bottom on a shorter wavelength side than the first absorbance peak and than the second absorbance peak, the second light emission layer extending over the first to third organic EL elements and being disposed above the first light emission layer.

Organic EL display device and method of manufacturing the same

A method of adjusting color balance includes writing first to third adjustment video signals on first to third pixels, respectively to obtain first to third monochromatic data, updating the first to third adjustment video signals based on the first to third monochromatic data, writing the updated first to third adjustment video signals on the first to third pixels to obtain a mixed color data, updating the first to third adjustment video signals in the case where the mixed color data is within a tolerance and the power consumption exceeds a predetermined upper limit, and setting the first to third adjustment video signals updated finally as the maximum values of the video signals to be written on the first to third pixels, respectively.

Method of manufacturing display and method of adjusting color balance

A plurality of pixel units are arranged in a matrix, each pixel unit including a display element and a pixel circuit which supplies a driving current to the display element. Each pixel circuit includes a first memory section which stores, in a write period of the pixel unit, a first driving current corresponding to a first signal current and then outputs the stored first driving current, and further stores a second driving current corresponding to a second signal current, and a second memory section which stores the first driving current output from the first memory section in the write period of the pixel unit. The pixel circuit outputs, in a light emission period of the pixel unit, a difference current between the second driving current stored in the first memory section and the first driving current stored in the second memory section to the display element as the driving current.

Active matrix display device

An organic EL display includes a substrate, and organic EL elements arranged on the substrate. Each organic EL element includes an anode, a cathode, an emitting layer made of an organic material and interposed therebetween, and a hole transporting layer made of an organic material and interposed between the emitting layer and the anode. The hole transporting layer includes a first layer and a second layer facing the substrate with the first layer interposed therebetween. The second layer is equal in compositions with the first layer and different in degrees of crystallinity from the first layer.

A display device includes a first insulation layer which is disposed on a support substrate with a first refractive index and has a second refractive index which differs from the first refractive index, a second insulation layer which is disposed on the first insulation layer and has a third refractive index which differs from the second refractive index, and a plurality of kinds of color pixels generate lights of different wavelengths, and have a refractive index which is substantially equal to the second refractive index. At least one kind of color pixel is put in contact with the first insulation layer via an opening portion that penetrates the second insulation layer.
