An optical fiber includes a glass fiber and a coating resin layer with which the glass fiber is covered, wherein the coating resin layer includes tin and a cured ultraviolet curable resin composition containing 2,4,6-trimethylbenzoyldiphenyl phosphine as a photoinitiator, a percentage of uncured components having a molecular weight of 1000 or less included in the coating resin layer is 15% by mass or less, and a fraction of an amount of a phosphorus-tin complex with respect to an amount of hydrocarbon on the surface of coating resin layer is 1000 ppm or less.

An optical fiber comprises a glass fiber and a coating resin layer covering the glass fiber, the coating resin layer having a primary resin layer and a secondary resin layer, the primary resin layer comprising a cured resin composition obtained by curing a resin composition comprising an oligomer, a monomer, and a photopolymerization initiator, wherein the oligomer is a reaction product of a polyol compound, an isocyanate compound, and a hydroxyl group-containing (meth)acrylate compound; a proportion of a primary hydroxyl group of hydroxyl groups included in the polyol compound is 3.5% or less; and a Young's modulus of the secondary resin layer at &#x2212;40&#xb0; C. is 1780 MPa or more.

The coated optical fibercomprises an optical fiberthat has a cladding layer composed of glass formed on an outer periphery of a glass core, a primary coating layerthat coats an outer periphery of the optical fiber, and a secondary coating layerthat coats an outer periphery of the primary coating layer, wherein the primary coating layerhas a Young's modulus of 1.2 MPa or less, the secondary coating layerhas a Young's modulus of 700 MPa or more, and the primary coating layercontains tin in a content of 70 ppm or less.

Coated optical fiber

An optical fiber comprises a glass fiber, and a coating resin layer having a primary resin layer and a secondary resin layer, wherein the primary resin layer consists of a cured resin composition containing an oligomer, a monomer and a photopolymerization initiator, the oligomer is a reaction product of a specific polyol compound, a polyisocyanate compound, and a hydroxyl group-containing acrylate compound, the photopolymerization initiator includes 2,4,6-trimethylbenzoyldiphenyl phosphine and 1-hydroxycyclohexyl phenyl ketone at a mass ratio of 5:1 to 1:1, and a content of 2,4,6-trimethylbenzoyldiphenyl phosphine in the resin composition is 1.5 to 2.5% by mass.

An optical fiber capable of achieving both of the ZSA property and the rapid curability is provided. The optical fiber includes a glass optical fiber, a primary coating layerthat coats an outer periphery of the glass optical fiber, and a secondary optical fiberthat coats an outer periphery of the primary coating layer. Young's modulus of the primary coating layeris 1.2 MPa or less and Young's modulus of the secondary coating layeris 800 MPa or more. The present invention relates to an optical fiber containing a glass fiber and a resinous coating layer that covers a periphery of the glass fiber, in which the resinous coating layer contains an ethanol of 10 mg or less or a methanol of 2 mg or less per gram of the resinous coating layer.

Provided are a method for preparing a standard sample in which a uniform dispersion of a predetermined concentration of red phosphorus is guaranteed even in a very small amount, and an analytical method for quantitatively determining red phosphorus contained in a resin by pyrolysis-GC/MS, in which the standard sample is used. The method for producing a standard sample for quantitatively determining red phosphorus contained in a resin includes the steps of preparing a red-phosphorus-containing compound by weighing a predetermined amount of red phosphorus and uniformly mixing the red phosphorus in a resin; decreasing the number of particles having a maximum diameter of 5 &#x3bc;m or more to 1/20 or less of the number of particles having a maximum diameter of 1 &#x3bc;m or more and less than 5 &#x3bc;m by pulverizing the red-phosphorus-containing compound; and obtaining a standard sample by weighing about 0.05 to 10 mg, preferably about 0.1 to 0.5 mg of the pulverized red-phosphorus-containing compound. The analytical method is a method for quantitatively determining red phosphorus contained in a resin by pyrolysis-GC/MS, in which the standard sample is used.

To provide a non-crosslinked flame-retardant resin composition delivering excellent heat resistance without deteriorating over a long period of time, as well as possessing sufficient flame retardancy, mechanical properties, flexibility and workability, and an insulated wire and a wiring harness using the same. The non-crosslinked flame-retardant resin composition includes (B) a metallic hydrate, (C) a hindered phenolic antioxidant, (D) a sulfurous antioxidant, and (E) a metallic oxide in (A) a non-crosslinked base resin which includes a propylene resin containing 50 wt % or more of propylene monomer. It is preferable to utilize an imdazole compound as the ingredient (D) and an oxide of zinc as the ingredient (E). In addition, the composition is used as an insulated covering material for a non-halogenous insulated wire, which is used in a wire bundle of the wiring harness.
