The current disclosure provides pharmaceutical compositions containing an oxidized phospholipid, such as 1-hexadecyl-2-(4'-carboxybutyl)-glycero-3-phosphocholine (VB-201) and a thermosoftening carrier, e.g., a poloxamer. The pharmaceutical compositions may further comprise an anti-adherent agent, such as talc and/or a thixotropic agent. The current disclosure further provides processes for preparing the pharmaceutical compositions. The disclosure further provides capsules containing the pharmaceutical compositions. Uses of such pharmaceutical compositions and capsules in treating inflammatory disorders are also disclosed.

Capsule construction

A controlled release device useful especially as an oral dosage form for man comprises a water impermeable capsule having at least one orifice which orifice is closed by a water swellable or water dispersable plug. Preferably the capsule is a cylinder formed e.g. of polyethylene closed at one end. The open end is closed by a tablet formed e.g. by direct compression of a pharmaceutical excipient such as lactose.

Polymeric materials useful as positive resists comprise a backbone formed from an addition polymer which is degradable by radiation and at least 3 pendant polymeric groups which show no appreciable positive resist characteristics. Preferably these materials comprise a backbone which is a polymethacrylate ester and from 3 to 5 pendant polystyrene groups. These polymers exhibit increased sensitivity and resistance to plasma processing and provide resists which are useful as components of integrated circuits.
