A process to prepare a (iv) cyclic polyester oligomer composition includes a cyclic polyester oligomer having furanic units and two to five repeat units. The process includes (a) reacting a monomer composition including: (i) a bifunctional furan-derivative and (ii) a diol in an linear oligomerization step to produce a (iii) linear oligomer composition including a linear oligomer species, (b) reacting the (iii) linear oligomer composition in a distillation-assisted cyclization (DA-C) step to form a (iv) cyclic polyester oligomer composition and a (v) diol byproduct. The (v) diol byproduct is removed by evaporation in the distillation-assisted cyclization (DA-C) step.

Process to prepare a cyclic oligomer and a cyclic oligomer obtainable thereby and a process to polymerize it

A process to prepare a polyester polymer composition comprising a polyester polymer having furanic units is disclosed. The process comprises a step of ring-opening polymerization of a cyclic polyester oligomer, which comprises residue of furandicarboxylic acid and a diol, in the presence of a catalyst in order to yield a polyester polymer having furanic units. The polyester polymer composition obtainable by the process, wherein the polyester polymer composition comprises a polyester polymer having furanic units and a cyclic polyester oligomer in a concentration of less than 5 wt % of the composition. The use of the polyester polymer composition in extrusion, injection molding, or blow molding are also disclosed.

A method for producing macro porous micro-clusters is proposed comprising at least the following individual steps in given order: a) synthesis of dispersed cross-linked polymeric latex primary particles starting from at least one monomer or oligomer using emulsion polymerization; b) swelling of the primary particles with a liquid comprising at least an additional charge of monomer and/or oligomer and a cross-linker, optionally further comprising functionalization agents; c) destabilization by increase of ionic strength (by adding a salt and/or acid and/or base) in a combination with application of shear, both being above the gel formation boundary of the phase diagram, until agglomerates composed of primary particles of the desired size are formed; d) polymerization of the agglomerates to form the macro porous micro-clusters. Furthermore the invention to relates to correspondingly produced micro-clusters and uses of such micro-clusters in particular for chromatographic purposes.

Method for the preparation of macroporous particles and macroporous microclusters

A process to prepare a cyclic polyester oligomer composition having a cyclic polyester oligomer having furanic units, includes the step of reacting a monomer component, for example, 2,5-furan dicarboxylic acid and, for example, ethylene glycol, in a ring closing oligomerization at a reaction temperature and reaction time, for example, at 100&#xb0; C. to 350&#xb0; C. for 30 to 600 minutes to obtain a cyclic polyester oligomer having furanic units. The process yields a cyclic polyester oligomer composition which can be used in further ring-opening polymerization reactions to produce a polyester polymer. The cyclic polyester oligomer composition has a cyclic polyester oligomer having furanic units and less than 5% linear oligomeric polyester species in the composition.

A process for continuous or quasi-continuous purification of a multi-component mixture (F) by means of individual chromatographic columns through which the mixture is fed by means of at least one solvent(s). The multi-component mixture (F) at least comprises light impurities (A), an intermediate product (B) to be purified and heavy impurities (C), and the columns are grouped into at least four sections (&#x3b1;,&#x3b2;,&#x3b3;,&#x3b4;). After or within a switch time (t*) the last column from the first section (&#x3b1;) is moved to the first position of the second section (&#x3b2;), the last column of the second section (&#x3b2;) is moved to the first position of the third section (&#x3b3;), the last column of the third section (&#x3b3;) is moved to the first position of the fourth section (&#x3b4;) and the last column of the fourth section (&#x3b4;) is moved to become the first column of the first section (&#x3b1;).

Method and device for chromatographic purification

A process for continuous purification of a multi-component mixture by means of individual chromatographic columns though which the mixture is fed by means of at least one solvent. The multi-component mixture comprises at least light impurities, an intermediate product, and heavy impurities. The columns are grouped into at least four sections (&#x3b1;, &#x3b2;, &#x3b3;, &#x3b4;) and the fourth section contains three sub-sections (&#x3b4;, &#x3b4;, &#x3b4;). The process operates, alternatingly, in a batch-mode position and in an interconnected-mode position. After or within a switch time, the columns are moved in their function in a counter direction to the general direction of flow of the solvent. The combination of batch chromatography with elements of simulated moving bed techniques, or rather, countercurrent-principles, allows for the separation of a true multi-component mixture, even if one of the products is only present in a small amount, comparatively.

Disclosed is a method for producing at least one chemical reaction product by chemically reacting one or several reactants that is/are optionally dissolved in one or several solvents and is/are supplied as a feed stream by bringing the same in contact with a heterogeneous catalyst in a continuously operated fixed-bed reactor which is filled with a particle bed, a continuous annular chromatograph (CAC) that is filled with the particle bed being used as a fixed-bed reaction in which the at least one reaction product is formed and purified while the at least one purified reaction product as well as optionally provided secondary products and/or non-reacted reactants are withdrawn at a different, predetermined azimuthal position of the annular chromatograph, respectively. The inventive method is characterized in that only one type of particle material is used in a single particle bed as both a formation catalyst and a chromatographic medium for purifying the at least one reaction product in the particle bed.
