The reaction takes place in the presence of an inert organic solvent and at a temperature within the range of from about 20.degree. C. to about 150.degree. C.

This invention relates to R.sub.1, i.e., phenoxy-, halophenoxy- and isopropoxy- hydroxymethylphenoxycyclotriphosphazenes and to a process for their preparation. This invention relates to R.sub.1, R.sub.2 -hydroxyphenoxycyclotriphosphazenes and to a process for their preparation. R.sub.1 is a phenoxy-, halophenoxy- or an isopropoxy- group while R.sub.2 is a hydroxyphenoxy- or a bis-phenoxy A group. The process comprises reacting R.sub.1 -chlorocyclotriphosphazene with an R.sub.2 salt. The reaction takes place in the presence of an inert organic solvent and at a temperature within the range of from about 20.degree. C. to about 150.degree. C.

Hydroxyphenoxyphosphazenes and a process for producing same

This invention relates to a process for metalating vinylidene halide based polymers by reacting them with a transmetalating organometallic compound and carrying out the reaction at a temperature within the range from about -20.degree. C. to about -80.degree. C. The resultant metalated vinylidene halide based polymers are useful intermediates in the preparation of functionalized polymers and graft copolymers.

Process for metalating vinylidene halide based polymers

A process for metalating a halogenated polyolefin so that only a very low percentage of the halogen originally present in the halogenated polyolefin is actually reacted during the process. The process comprises adding a solvated transmetalating organometallic compound to a cement mix of a halogenated polyolefin and a solvent. The transmetalating organometallic compound is present in the reaction in a molar amount less than the molar amount of the halogen content of the halogenated polyolefin. The reaction temperature is below 0.degree. C.

Process for metalating halogenated polyolefins

A process is disclosed for metalating a polyolefin halide so that there is a low amount of cross-linking site reactions. The process comprises adding a solvated transmetalating organometallic compound to a cement mix of a polyolefin halide and a solvent. The reaction temperature is below -20.degree. C.
