A variable valve lift rocker arm assembly can include a latching axle assembly comprising a roller latch assembly and a first latch receiver assembly; an outer body configured to rotate around a rocker shaft, the outer body comprising at least a valve end, and a cam end comprising an outer axle bore for seating the first latch receiver assembly of the latching axle assembly; an inner body configured to rotate around the rocker shaft, the inner body comprising an inner axle bore configured for seating the roller latch assembly of the latching axle assembly; a main roller operatively coupled to the outer body; and a secondary roller operatively coupled to the inner body; wherein the roller latch assembly and the first latch receiver assembly are configured to selectively operatively couple the outer body to the inner body.

Variable valve lift rocker arm assembly

A valve bridge assembly for an engine includes a main body configured to engage a distal end of at least one valve stem. A receiving body is movably disposed within a cavity of the main body between a first position and a second position. The receiving body includes at least one key-receiver. A piston body is movably attached to the main body and includes a key configured to be received into the key-receiver of the receiving body. When the receiving body is in the first position. the key-receiver feature and key are misaligned and a force applied to the piston body is transmitted to the at least one valve stem via the receiving body and the main body. When the receiving body is in the second position, the key-receiver and the key are aligned and a force applied to the piston body causes the piston body to be displaced relative to the main body.

A latch assembly can comprise a main latch pin assembly comprising a first diameter on a first main pin face, and a secondary latch piston comprising a second diameter on a secondary piston face. The secondary latch piston can be configured to selectively act on the main latching pin assembly. The main latch pin assembly can be biased to oppose the secondary latch piston. The first diameter can be greater than the second diameter. A rocker arm assembly can comprise the latch assembly. A primary arm can be configured to receive the main latch pin assembly. A secondary arm can be configured to receive the secondary latch piston.

A switchable rocker arm can comprise a main body configured to rotate around a rocker shaft. The main body can comprise a valve end and a cam end. A second body can comprise a cam-receiving transfer portion and a latch bore through the transfer portion. The cam-receiving transfer portion can include a bearing axle and a roller bearing. A latch assembly including a first latch and a second latch can be mounted in the latch bore.
