The present disclosure relates to a stacker and a method to assemble a stator core of an electric machine. Disclosed is a method for stacking a stator core of an electric machine, with the steps of providing a support adjacent to the stator frame to carry at least a sheet for the stator core, grabbing the at least a sheet with an arm arranged outside the stator core, the arm has a holding device for clamping the at least a sheet, guiding the at least a sheet inside the stator frame in a horizontal direction, and arranging the at least a sheet to compose the stator core.

The present disclosure relates to a method to apply an insulation to a retaining ring for end windings of an electric machine and to a fillable bag to apply an insulation to a retaining ring. Disclosed is a method to apply an insulation to a retaining ring for end windings of an electric machine, with the steps of providing a retaining ring housing, attaching an insulation at the inside of the retaining ring housing, and inflating a bag inside the retaining ring housing to apply pressure to the insulation. Also disclosed is a fillable bag to apply a pressure to an electric insulation inside a retaining ring for end windings of an electric machine.

A method for operating a matrix converter in which m phases of a generator generating alternating voltage with n (n&#x3c;m) phases of a load are alternatingly connected via a multiple number of controllable bi-directional switches arranged in an (m&#xd7;n) matrix, wherein switching over from a selected connected phase of the generator to a selected non-connected phase of the generator takes place in a controlled sequence of commutation instants of the individual switches. A method for the calculation of an output spectrum of a matrix converter in which m phases of a generator as an input are alternatingly connected via a multiple number of controllable bi-directional switches arranged in an (m&#xd7;n) matrix with n (n&#x3c;m) phases of a load as an output. An assessment of the spectrum to be used, for example, for compensation of harmonic distortions of the output spectrum can be obtained by calculating the electromotive force spectrum based on at least one of the connectivity of the phases, on the phase relationship between input and output, and on the instants when commutations of the switches are initiated and on the instants when commutations of the switches are completed.
