A method is disclosed comprising: scanning for one or more signals sent by one or more beacon devices, wherein each signal of the one or more signals comprises an identifier of the beacon device, which has sent the signal of the one or more signals, wherein one or more identifiers of the one or more beacon devices are determined based on the one or more signals of the one or more beacon devices; obtaining a position information representing the position of the at least one first apparatus; and outputting a report information comprising the determined one or more identifiers of the one or more beacon devices and the position information of the at least one first apparatus to allow usage of the outputted report information to determine the position of at least one of the one or more beacon devices. A corresponding apparatus, computer program and system are also provided.

Determining positions of beacon devices

An approach is provided for generating a targeted map display from a plurality of data sources. A mapping platform receives at least one request to provision at least one targeted map display for at least one device based, at least in part, on at least one targeted mapping object. The at least one targeted mapping object includes one or more parameters for retrieving targeted content from a plurality of data sources. The mapping platform also determines one or more map item detail records based, at least in part, on the one or more parameters. The one or more map item detail records include payload content assembled from the plurality of data sources about one or more map items. The mapping platform then causes, at least in part, a selective updating of the one or more map item detail records based, at least in part, on one or more validity criteria for provisioning the at least one targeted map display.

Method and apparatus for providing a targeted map display from a plurality of data sources

A method is disclosed for relative positioning performed by a first mobile device that is one of a plurality of mobile devices. The method determines a first probe signal parameter that is indicative for a distance between the first mobile device and a second mobile device. The method obtains one or more further probe signal parameters. Each further probe signal parameter is indicative for a distance between two of the plurality of mobile devices. The method selects probe signal parameters of the first probe signal parameter and the further probe signal parameters for determining one or more relative positions between two or more of the plurality of mobile devices. The method determines one or more relative positions between two or more of the plurality of mobile devices at least based on the selected probe signal parameters. A corresponding apparatus, system and computer readable medium are also disclosed.

Distributed relative positioning

An approach is provided for associating physical locations to websites. The element platform may determine one or more user interactions by at least one user with at least one user interface element embedded in at least one website of at least one online entity, wherein the at least one user interface element is associated with one or more physical locations of the at least one online entity. Then, the element platform may cause, at least in part, a storage of the one or more physical locations in at least one user collection database based, at least in part, on the one or more interactions.
