A resin composition of propylene-ethylene random copolymer comprising (a) a propylene-ethylene random copolymer, (b) at least one alkali salt selected from the group consisting of alkali carboxylates, alkali .beta.-diketonates and alkali salts of .beta.-ketacetate, (c) an organophosphoric compound, and (d) a lithium aluminum compound. The organophosphoric compound is represented by the following formula (I): ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1 is hydrogen or an alkyl group having 1 to 4 carbon atoms, each of R.sub.2 and R.sub.3 is independently hydrogen or an alkyl group having 1 to 12 carbon atoms, M is a metal atom of an element selected from the group consisting of Group III, IV, XIII and XIV elements of the Periodic Table, and X is --OH when M is a metal atom of an element of Group III or XIII of the Periodic Table or X is .dbd.O or (--OH).sub.2 when M is a metal atom of an element of Group IV or XIV of the Periodic Table, and the lithium aluminum compound is represented by the following formula (II):

A polypropylene resin composition comprising (a) 100 parts by weight of a propylene polymer having an isotactic pentad fraction of 96% or more which is determined by .sup.13 C-NMR, (b) 0.01-5 parts by weight of at least one alkali salt selected from the group consisting of alkali carboxylates, alkali .beta.-diketonates and alkali salts of .beta.-ketacetate, (c) 0.01-5 parts by weight of an organophosphoric compound, and (d) 0.01-0.5 parts by weight of a lithium aluminum compound. An apparatus for continuously cooling a metal strip, which comprises: at least one cooling roll, which is freely rotatable and in contact with a metal strip continuously travelling in the longitudinal direction thereof, for continuously cooling the metal strip, a cooling liquid flowing through the interior of the cooling roll to continuously cool same, a contact area between the surface of the cooling roll and the surface of the metal strip being controllable; and a gas cooler, arranged on the exist side of the at least one cooling roll, for continuously cooling the metal strip by blowing a cooling gas onto the surface of the metal strip so as to achieve a uniform temperature distribution in the width direction of the metal strip after the final cooling thereof, the gas cooler comprising a plurality of mutually independent nozzle headers for blowing the cooling gas onto the surface of the metal strip, and the plurality of nozzle headers controlling at least one of a flow rate and a flow velocity of the cooling gas in the width direction of the metal strip.

Apparatus for continuously cooling metal strip

A method for cold rolling a strip is wherein brushing roll are provided to both the work rolls and the back up rolls of the temper mill, to remove particles from the surface of the rolls of the mill and suction ducts adjacent to the brushing rolls transport the foreign objects out of the mill system. The sucking speed at the duct is at least 5 m/sec., and preferably 8 m/sec. The length of the bristle is from 15 to 60 mm, the diameter thereof being from 0.15 mm to 1.0 mm, and the material thereof is selected from a group of nylon, propyrene, or a the mixture thereof. The density of the bristle with respect to the peripheral surface area of the brushing rolls for the work roll is from 55 to 85% by area. Abrasive grains with a grain size of #300 to #1200 are incorporated in the brush of said brushing roll which enhance the brushing ability. The material of the abrasive grain includes at least one selected from a group of alumina, titania, and silicate, and the volume percentage of the grain with respect to the volume of the brush is from 5 to 30% in volume.
