A device for treating a surplus warp yarn drawn from a warp beam of a loom consists of a drive member rotatable by the warp beam. A rotational force of the drive member is transmitted through a transmission device to a driven member. The driven member is secured to a take-up reel disposed separate from the warp beam. The surplus warp yarn drawn from the warp beam is wound up on the take-up reel rotatable with the driven member, thereby preventing the surplus warp yarn from getting entangled with regular warp yarns drawn from the warp beam.

A waste binding yarn take-up device for a shuttleless loom, comprises a traction device for pulling waste binding yarns at a constant traction speed, a rotary traverse roller rotatable at a peripheral velocity slightly higher than the traction speed of the traction device, and formed at its outer surface with a guide groove along which the waste binding yarns from the traction device is guided to make traverse motion thereof, and a rotatable core member on which a cheese of the waste binding yarns from the traverse roller is capable of being formed, the core member being biased so that the outer surface of the cheese contacts the outer surface of the traverse roller, thereby wounding up the waste binding yarns on the core member, holding in tension the waste binding yarns without causing the slackening of the waste binding yarns.

An apparatus for selecting inserting weft yarns each into a weaving shed of warp yarns in a shuttleless weaving loom, in which a fluid distributor valve unit, a weft feeding and length-measuring mechanism and a weft retaining unit are operated by levers selectively driven for rocking motion depending upon the angular positions of cams mounted in two groups on separate cam shafts which are rotatable independently of each other and which are driven to turn about the respective center axes of the cam shafts in accordance with a predetermined weaving schedule stored in, for example, a dobby mechanism.

Selective weft inserting apparatus in shuttleless weaving loom

Weft feeding mechanism of a shuttleless loom comprises a feed roller driven from a loom shaft, a pressure roller engageable with the feed roller, another roller engageable with the feed roller in accordance with separation of the pressure roller from the feed roller and in gearing connection with the pressure roller, and control means for movement of the pressure roller into and out of engagement with the feed roller in response to a signal indicating insertion of a selected weft, whereby the pressure roller is constantly driven from the feed roller irrespectively of its position engaging with or separating from the feed roller.
