A sealing device capable of suppressing depletion of lubricant is provided. A sliding surface of a side lipat a position away from a distal end of the side lipis provided with a plurality of annular groovesadjacent each other, each of all parts that form annular protrusionsbetween adjacent annular groovesprotrudes most at a center in a width direction thereof, with an amount of protrusion gradually decreasing with increasing separation from the center, and both sides of the center in the width direction are symmetric in shape. A tip portion of the sliding surface of the side lipon the distal side of a region, which is provided with the plurality of annular grooves, is configured to make a planar contact with an end face of the annular member.

Sealing device

A sealing apparatus is provided that is capable of inhibiting a degradation in electrical conductivity performance. The sealing apparatus includes an outer seal part and an inner seal part, and conductive grease housed in a space. An outer elastic body part of the outer seal part is formed from an elastic body having electrical conductivity and includes a dust lip, a conduction lip, and a gasket part. At an annular fitting surface, the inner seal part is attached to the outer seal part. An inner elastic body part of the inner seal part is formed from an elastic body having electrical conductivity and includes a grease lip. The outer seal part has a spring that is put on an outer periphery side of the conduction lip to press the conduction lip against an inner peripheral member.

Sealing apparatus

A sealing apparatus includes a reinforcing ring, an elastic body portion formed of an elastic body having conductivity, and a conductive grease. The elastic body portion includes a base portion, a lip portion which extends from the base portion, and a tension force applying member which is an elastic member in an annular shape. The tension force applying member is mounted on an outer peripheral side of the lip portion at a lip tip end portion to apply a tension force which presses a lip contact end against an outer peripheral surface of a shaft. The conductive grease is applied to at least a portion of an inner peripheral surface of the elastic body portion which faces an inner periphery side.

A sealing device includes an annular reinforcing ring and an elastic body part, and the elastic body part has an annular seal lip, an annular dust lip, and an annular side lip. The side lip extends toward the outer side on an outer periphery side of the dust lip, and includes a distal end portion, a middle portion, and a root portion. The root portion is an annular portion, the middle portion is a portion that is outside of the root portion, and an annular portion that increases in diameter toward an outward side, and the distal end portion is a portion that is outside the middle portion, and an annular portion that increases in diameter toward an outward side. The distal end portion is bent to an inner periphery side from the middle portion.

A sealing device between a shaft hole formed on a housing and a rotary shaft, is provided with a rotating seal member fixed to the rotary shaft that rotates integrally with the rotary shaft, and a fixed seal member fixed to an inner surface of the shaft hole. The fixed seal member has a lip contacting the rotary shaft and an axial dust lip contacting the rotating seal member. The rotating seal member is formed by a rigid body, and an opening is formed on the rotating seal member connecting to a space defined by the rotary shaft, the lip and the axial dust lip of the fixed seal member, and the rotating seal member. A deformation member is disposed on the opening of the rotating seal member that has higher elasticity than the rotating seal member, which blocks the opening, and deforms based on the pressure in the space.

To improve durability of a seal lip () of an oil seal () in slidably contact with the peripheral surface of a shaft (), a lubricating oil supply section () for collecting adhered oil and dropping it on the shaft () is provided at a forward end portion of an installation section (), the lubricating oil supply section () has projections () formed on the inner peripheral surface of the installation section () to collect oil on the surface thereof, the surface of each projection () has a recess () for temporarily accumulating oil, guidance projections, or a slope for collecting the oil, and dams are formed on a forward end face () of the installation section () to block the oil flowing down along the circumferential direction on the forward end face () and guides the oil toward each projection ().

Oil seal

For an oil seal () having a seal lip () with a slope () at the side of sealed fluid and a slope () at the side opposite to the sealed fluid, and a screw section () provided on the slope () for pushing back sealed fluid by a pumping effect at a time of rotation, in order to achieve low torque characteristics based on fluid lubrication by increasing the thickness of an oil film on sliding surfaces, an intermediate surface () is provided between the slopes (), and an oppositely threaded screw section () for sucking the sealed fluid by a pumping effect is provided on the intermediate surface () without reaching the boundary () between the intermediate surface () and the slope (), so that a threadless region is provided in the entire circumference between the screw section () and the boundary ().

To reduce an axial installation width of a sealing devicecomprising an oil sealmounted in an inner periphery of a shaft holeof a housingand slidably contacted with an outer periphery of a rotating shaftand a magnetic encodermounted on the rotating shaftso as to be rotated therewith, as well as to improve sealing performance, the oil sealis provided with a metal ringhaving at least a part thereof disposed at an inner periphery side of the cylindrical portionin the magnetic encoderso that the oil sealand magnetic encoderare overlapped with each other in an axial direction, and the oil sealis provided with a seal lipformed with a rubber-like elastic body and disposed towards an interior side A of a housing.

Sealing device with encoder

A seal lip of an oil seal is in slidable contact with a peripheral surface of a shaft. A lubricating oil supply section for collecting adhered oil and dropping it on the shaft is provided at a forward end portion of an installation section. The lubricating oil supply section has projections formed on the inner peripheral surface of the installation section to collect oil on the surface thereof. The surface of each projection has a recess for temporarily accumulating oil. Guidance projections, or a slope for collecting the oil, and dams are formed on a forward end face of the installation section to block the oil flowing down along the circumferential direction on the forward end face and guides the oil toward each projection.

This invention provides an oil seal that can maintain an excellent friction reduction function over a long period of time, has excellent abrasion resistance, and further has excellent sealing properties. The oil seal comprises a seal lip () formed of a rubber-like elastic material comprising a lip edge part () and an air-side slope () and a sealing fluid-side slope () provided on both sides of the lip edge part (). The air-side slope () has a coating film () on its surface. In the lip edge part () in its portion in contact with a shaft (), a sealing fluid-side rubber part (') and an air-side coating film () are simultaneously brought into contact with the shaft (). The coating film () is preferably formed of a coating agent comprising a fluororesin, a polyethylene resin, an isocyanate-modified polybutadiene resin, and a solvent.
