In an engine ignition method according to the present invention, an ignition coil and an exciter coil are provided in a magneto generator driven by an engine. After charging an ignition capacitor using an output voltage of the exciter coil, the ignition capacitor is discharged through a primary coil of the ignition coil at an ignition timing of the engine, whereby a high voltage induced in a secondary coil of the ignition coil is applied to an ignition plug and a first spark discharge is generated in the ignition plug, and a voltage induced in the secondary coil of the ignition coil accompanied with rotation of the magneto rotor is applied to the ignition plug in a state that insulation across discharge gaps of the ignition plug is broken down due to the first spark discharge, whereby a second spark discharge is produced in the ignition plug.

Engine ignition method and engine ignition device

The internal combustion engine ignition device has a core, a coil part that is wound over the core, and a secondary coil that is wound on the outer peripheral side of the coil part. A switching element switches an induced current, which is generated via the rotation of a permanent magnet, of a primary coil on and off. A resistor and a microcomputer are connected to the switching element, and a rotation detection circuit is connected to the microcomputer. The microcomputer drives the switching element so as to rapidly change the current flowing through the primary coil and generate a high voltage in the secondary coil, and generate a spark discharge in a spark plug connected to the secondary coil. In the coil part, one coil is divided by an intermediate tap, forming the primary coil and a charging coil.

Internal combustion engine ignition device

An ignition device for an internal combustion engine including: an exciter coil that generates an AC voltage having a positive half wave and first and second negative half waves generated before and after the positive half wave with rotation of the internal combustion engine; and an ignition control portion that controls an ignition position of the engine using a microprocessor to which a power supply voltage is supplied from a power supply circuit that converts the voltage having the negative half waves generated by the exciter coil to a DC voltage, wherein the ignition control portion is comprised so as to cause a timer to start a counting operation at the start of the operation of the microprocessor, regard a measurement value of the timer as time between generation of the first negative half wave and generation of the second negative half wave to arithmetically operate counting data for measuring the ignition position based on rotational speed information of the engine obtained from the time, and immediately measure the arithmetically operated counting data to generate an ignition signal.

Ignition device for internal combustion engine

A capacitor discharge ignition device in which a coil unit including an ignition coil and an exciter coil wound around a common core, and an ignition unit including a circuit board and components of an ignition circuit mounted to the circuit board are housed in a case and molded with resin poured into the case, wherein the ignition coil and the exciter coil are placed axially with a spacing therebetween and a space is formed between the coils, the circuit board of the ignition unit is placed on a lateral side of the coil unit, and terminals for connecting the ignition coil and the exciter coil to the circuit board are all connected to the circuit board through the space between the ignition coil and the exciter coil.

Capacitor discharge engine ignition device

A capacitor discharge ignition device for an internal combustion engine including: idling time advance angle control permission condition determination means for determining whether an idling time advance angle control permission condition is met that is a condition for permitting control to advance an ignition position during idling immediately after completion of the start of the engine in order to stabilize idling immediately after completion of the start of the internal combustion engine; and idling time advance angle control means for advancing the ignition position during idling immediately after completion of the start of the internal combustion engine when it is determined that the idling time advance angle control permission condition is met.

A capacitor-discharge-type ignition device for an internal combustion engine, comprising: an exciter coil that generates an AC voltage having a positive half-wave voltage and first and second negative half-wave voltages present before and after the positive half-wave voltage synchronously with rotation of the engine; ignition-position detection time data calculating means that arithmetically operates as ignition position detection time data, the time period that is required for the engine to rotate from the generating position of the second negative half-wave voltage to an ignition position suitable in starting period, at the rotational speed of the engine that is obtained from time period from generation of the first negative half-wave voltage to the generation of the second negative half-wave voltage, and from an angle between the generating position of the first negative half-wave voltage and that of the second negative half-wave voltage, wherein a crank angle position when the measurement of the arithmetically operated ignition position detection time data is completed is determined as an ignition position at a low speed operation of the engine.
