A hydraulic system is preferably used in combination with a motor and a clutch of a hybrid vehicle. The hydraulic system is comprised of a pump coupled with the motor to pressurize fluid; a pressurized fluid path coupled with the pump to conduct the pressurized fluid; an operating fluid path connecting the pressurized fluid path with the clutch to actuate the clutch; a depressurized fluid path to conduct depressurized fluid; and an on-off valve operated in cooperation with the clutch to selectively permit fluid connection of the pressurized fluid path to the depressurized fluid path so as to relieve pressure in the pressurized fluid path.

Hydraulic system

In order to avoid competition with other components for a space, to thereby improve the degree of designing freedom, the power transmission apparatus includes a transfer case housing and supporting a ring gear and a pinion gear that orthogonally mesh with each other and form an orthogonal gear set, the transfer case is divided into a first case part and a second case part along a division plane that extends along an axis of rotation of the ring gear, and the first and second case parts and are fixed together along the division plane with bolts.

Power transmission apparatus

A power transmission device is comprised of a first shaft having a first gear and a second gear and capable of being drivingly coupled with the engine; a second shaft drivingly coupled with the electric motor and the first shaft; a third gear meshing with the first gear to form a first gearing having a first gear ratio; a fourth gear coaxial with the third gear, the fourth gear meshing with the second gear to form a second gearing having a second gear ratio; a third shaft coaxial with both the third gear and the fourth gear, the third shaft being drivingly coupled with the axles; a first clutch configured to selectively connect and disconnect the third gear with the third shaft; and a second clutch configured to selectively connect and disconnect the fourth gear with the third shaft.

Power transmission device

A reduction drive device is compact, hardly causes an electric motor thereof to vibrate, and has improved noise/vibration controllability. The reduction drive device includes the electric motor attached to a casing and capable of outputting torque, first and second reduction mechanisms supported by the casing, to reduce and transmit the rotational output of the electric motor, and a rear differential supported by the casing, to distribute the rotational output reduced by the first and second reduction mechanisms to a pair of axle shafts. Rotor, stator, and brush of the electric motor partly overlap the rear differential when seen in a rotation radius direction.

Reduction drive device

An electromagnetic clutch is provided with: a clutch hub which is connected to a shaft member (one of a pair of rotation members); a clutch housing which is connected to a hollow shaft (the other of a pair of rotation members); a rotor which is connected to the clutch housing; a main clutch (clutch member) which is disposed between the clutch hub and the clutch housing; and an electromagnet which operates the main clutch. An end surface of the clutch housing and an end surface of a core of the electromagnet are disposed to be opposed to each other with the rotor interposed therebetween in an axial direction. The end of the rotor in a side of the clutch housing is formed with an extension portion which extends to the clutch housing in the axial direction. An outer periphery of the clutch housing is connected to the extension portion through a connection portion. The connection portion is disposed outside the main clutch in a radial direction.

Electromagnetic clutch

In an electromagnetic clutch apparatus for forming a magnetic path in a circulating shape by an electromagnet at a pilot clutch alternately arranged with a main outer plate and a main inner plate and capable of controlling to transmit a torque between a clutch housing and a cam plate by being engaged in an axial direction and at a surrounding of a nonmagnetic portion continuously formed in the axial direction of a middle portion in a diameter direction of the pilot clutch to carry out an engaging, the nonmagnetic portion is formed by through holes in a circular arc shape having bridge portions for maintaining a shape in a diameter direction of the pilot clutch therebetween in a peripheral direction, and the bridge portion is divided in the diameter direction of the pilot clutch and a nonmagnetic member is interposed between divisions thereof.

Electromagnetic clutch apparatus

A magnetic-path member includes first and second magnetic portions positioned on inner and outer peripheral sides of the magnetic-path member respectively. The magnetic-path member includes a non-magnetic portion interposed between the first and second magnetic portions and coupling the first and second magnetic portions by heat sintering. Magnetic lines of force occurring from an electromagnet pass through the magnetic-path member.

A motor power train which includes a reducer for amplifying motor drive torque, a differential device with a clutch mechanism and a differential gear unit to allocate the drive torque to wheels, and a casing for housing them. The reducer includes a first shaft as an input shaft; a second shaft to which the drive torque is transmitted form the first shaft; a first reduction gear set with a first gear on the first shaft and a second gear on the second shaft; and a second reduction gear set with a third gear on the second shaft and a fourth gear provided on the clutch mechanism of the differential device. The fourth gear and a large-diameter portion of the differential gear unit are offset in axial position without overlapping.

Motor power train and method of assembling the same

A wet type friction clutch and an electromagnetic clutch is disclosed wherein a pilot clutch is disposed in a magnetic flux path of an electromagnet and is kept between an armature and the electromagnet . Upon excitation of the electromagnet , the armature is retracted to allow the pilot clutch to be coupled. The pilot clutch includes a plurality of clutch plates which are interleaved with respect to one another for sliding movements. Adjacent clutch plates A, B, A, B, C, D, E, F are formed with oil guide passageways to create a hydrodynamic pressure effect to allow the clutch plates to be separated with a limited drag torque. Further, the clutch plate has magnetic flux path forming portions , at inner and outer peripheral sides, between which through-bores are formed to allow bridge portions to be intervened between the through-bores, with each of the bridge portions being configured such that opposing walls of the bridge portions of adjacent clutch plates have reduced contact surface areas to eliminate a leakage of a magnetic flux.

Wet type friction clutch and electromagnetic clutch

An outer rotational member has an inner wall surface and an outer wall surface. An inner rotational member is arranged inside the outer rotational member. Friction-clutch means is provided between the inner rotational member and the outer rotational member and is fastened by a thrust force. An oil lubricates at least the friction-clutch means. An oil space intervenes between the inner rotational member and the outer rotational member. Seal means seals the oil in the oil space. A first oil reservoir is recessed on the inner wall surface of the outer rotational member toward a side of the outer wall surface side.

A cooling system is simple in structure, efficient, and durable due to a lowered burden on bearings and reduced loss of drive power. The cooling system includes a compressor having a first rotor for compressing air, a cooler for cooling high-temperature, high-pressure air delivered form the compressor, and an expander having a second rotor for effecting adiabatic expansion of air cooled by the cooler. The expander has a speed change mechanism for transmitting drive torque of a prime mover to the compressor and a common shaft that extends through the first and second rotors. The expander is interposed between the speed change mechanism and the compressor.

Air cycle cooling system

A transmission for an auxiliary device arranged for transmitting a driving force of an engine to an auxiliary device has a planetary-gear-type speed increasing mechanism having a first gear driven by the engine through an input shaft, a second gear connected to the auxiliary device and a third gear for locking. It is further provided with a friction clutch for connecting the third gear to a stationary member, a hydraulic actuator for pressing the friction clutch and an oil pump for feeding an oil pressure to the hydraulic actuator. A damper is disposed between the stationary member and the friction clutch.

Transmission for an auxiliary device

A supercharger for supercharging intake air to an engine includes a casing which has a suction opening covering a suction-side end of the casing and a discharge opening on the side of the opposite end thereof, and a pair of rotors engaged with each other for compressing intake air introduced from the suction opening to supply the compressed air to the engine via the discharge opening. The casing has therein a communication passage for establishing a communication between the suction opening and the discharge opening. The supercharger also includes a bypass valve for opening and closing the communication passage, and an actuator for actuating the bypass valve.

Supercharger with integral by-pass passage

A viscous coupling capable of preventing decrease in torque obtained by the shear force. The viscous coupling includes relatively rotatable first, second, and third rotating members forming an operation chamber in which a viscous fluid is to be confined; a dividing member placed inside the operation chamber for dividing the operation chamber into a first chamber formed by the dividing member and the first and third rotating members, and a second chamber formed by the dividing member and the second and third rotating members; and a pump for controlling flow of the viscous fluid between the first and second chambers.
