Upon evaluation of a value of a diagnostic process, the value of a diagnostic process is evaluated not based on a simple cost but on a cost required for all processes of a patient who was in the diagnostic process through a follow-up survey. Diagnostic processes that are not relevant to a target diagnostic process are eliminated, clustering is performed on patients to divide the patients into clinically meaningful homogeneous groups, and the target diagnostic process is evaluated for each of the homogeneous groups. For the purpose, importance scores of data pieces of the clinical data are calculated and the relevant data is output using the output result of the medical knowledge extraction unit, clustering is performed on patients in the clinical data, and a clinical index and a cost are output for each of the clusters.

A liquid crystal display device can realize a broad visual field angle comparable to a cathode ray tube and produce a high brightness and a high image quality, with low power consumption and a narrow frame. To achieve these features, in an active matrix system liquid crystal display device, a counter electrode and a pixel electrode are linearly formed so as not to flatly overlap each other, thus enabling generation of an electric field parallel to the substrate surface, and an insulating film having a specific dielectric constant not greater than 4 is formed on a drain line, thus forming the counter electrode on the insulating film to cover the drain line.

A liquid crystal panel and a liquid crystal display device including the panel which has a transparent first substrate, a second substrate arranged so as to oppose the first substrate with a space therebetween and liquid crystals filled in the space between the first substrate and the second substrate and having a twist angle which changes in a plane in parallel with a direction of an electric field. A color liquid crystal display device includes a liquid crystal display panel having color filters corresponding to primaries red, green and blue, and a backlight unit disposed behind the liquid crystal display panel. A circuit board comprises a rigid metal substrate, a conductive metal layer formed into a predetermined circuit pattern, and a resinous layer interposed between the metal substrate and the metal layer for electrically insulating and bonding the metal substrate and the metal layer, the conductive metal layer having an elongation at break of not less than 15%, and the resinous layer comprising a first resinous layer having a volume resistivity of not less than 10.sup.10 .OMEGA.. cm, and a second resinous layer having an elongation at break of not less than 100%. The circuit board has a desired dielectric strength between the metal substrate and the conductive metal layer and can be bent without resulting disconnection in the metal layer or the like.
