An electronic ink cartridge is provided, which improves the mass productivity of a position pointer and which ensures reliability of a characteristic of a pressure sensor to detect writing pressure. The electronic ink cartridge includes a core member provided so as to extend outwardly from a distal end portion of a tubular member in a direction of a center axis of the tubular member, a pressure sensor accommodated in a hollow portion of the tubular member to sense pressure applied to the core member, a connection member provided fixedly on the tubular member to interpose the pressure sensor between the connection member and the core member along the direction of the center axis of the tubular member, and a connection terminal, which is formed on a proximal end face of the connection member and from which an electric characteristic corresponding to the pressure sensed by the pressure sensor is extracted.

An electronic ink cartridge includes, in a direction of a central axis within a cylindrical body, a core body extended out from a distal end of the cylindrical body, a coupling member disposed on a side of a proximal end of the cylindrical body, a coil housed between the core body and the coupling member and having a predetermined inductance, and a pressure sensitive element whose capacitance changes according to pressure applied to the core body. Two terminals of the coil are electrically connected respectively to two terminals of the pressure sensitive element to thereby form two terminals of a resonance circuit formed by the coil and the pressure sensitive element. A connecting terminal electrically connected to at least one of the two terminals of the resonance circuit is disposed on a proximal end surface side of the coupling member to be accessible thereon from outside.

Position indicator of electromagnetic induction system and electronic ink cartridge

A position pointer is disclosed, in which an electronic ink cartridge of an electromagnetic induction type is accommodated. The electronic ink cartridge includes a resonance circuit having a coil and a capacitor circuit, and is configured to detect pressure applied to a core member accommodated in the position pointer based on a variation of a resonance frequency of the resonance circuit. The cartridge includes a tubular member, in which the core member and the coil are accommodated such that the coil is positioned between the core member, which extends outwardly from one end of the tubular member, and the capacitor circuit along a direction of a center axis of the tubular member. The cartridge also includes a connection member in the tubular member, which electrically connects a first end and a second end of the coil to a first terminal and a second terminal of the capacitor circuit, respectively.

A capacitor is provided, which allows a user to readily change or adjust its capacitance value. The capacitor includes a dielectric film, which includes first and second conductor layers disposed on opposite surfaces thereof, and which is wound into a rod shape. First and second electrodes are led out from the first and second conductor layers, respectively. At least one of the first and second conductor layers includes an area-changeable conductor pattern, which is disposed (e.g., exposed) on an outer circumference side of the capacitor wound into the rod shape to receive physical treatment (e.g., cutting, connecting) from outside to thereby change the size of a conductor area of the at least one of the first and second conductor layers. Thus, the physical treatment changes the conductor area of the conductor layers, to thereby selectively set or adjust the capacitance value of the capacitor.

Capacitor

A variable capacitance type capacitor includes an inside member and an outside member including a space for housing the inside member. The inside member has a columnar shape, and a first conductor pattern is formed on a circumferential surface thereof. The outside member has a predetermined dielectric constant, and a second conductor pattern is formed on an outer circumferential surface thereof so as to oppose the first conductor pattern formed on the inside member. The inside member housed in the space of the outside member is displaced relative to the outside member in a direction of a central axis of the inside member in response to an externally applied force, and an opposed area between the first conductor pattern and the second conductor pattern changes to thereby form a capacitance corresponding to the externally applied force between the first electrode and the second electrode.
