A database search system ensures the privacy of a search request and the security of a database with high processing efficiency. The system comprises a database server residing on a network that stores predetermined data, and a client terminal issuing to the database server a search request for inquiring for desired data while keeping the desired data secret. The database server further comprises: a database storing predetermined data; and a search response message generation unit for receiving through a network the data search request in which data to be searched for is kept secret, searching the database by a predetermined computation based on the search request and a list of the data stored in the database while a data item involved with the search request is kept secret, and generating a response to the search request.

System and method for searching a database or data sharing system for the presence of data

A system which implements a method for providing attribute data. A request is received from a user device via a network for a virtual ID token relating to attribute information pertaining to a subscriber associated with the user device. A data record including L attributes of the subscriber is read from a database, L being at least 2. The data record is provided to the user device via the network. A selection of M attributes of the L attributes is received from the user device via the network, M being less than L. A virtual record including the M attributes selected from the data record is generated, the virtual record including a virtual ID (VID) for identifying the virtual record. The generated virtual record is stored in the database. The virtual ID token is provided to the user device via the network, wherein the virtual ID token includes the VID.

Cryptographic communication system including a sender terminal for encrypting and transmitting a message, a recipient terminal for receiving and decrypting the encrypted message, an agent terminal for decrypting the message in place of the recipient terminal, and a conversion server for supporting the agent terminal to decrypt the message. The sender terminal encrypts the message using a public key of the recipient terminal. Using a public key of the conversion server, a predetermined restricted condition, and a secret key for decryption of the message, the recipient terminal generates a delegation key allowing decryption of the message under the restricted condition and passes the delegation key to the agent terminal. The conversion server validates a power of the agent terminal to decrypt the message based on the information contained in the delegation key from the agent terminal. The agent terminal then decrypts the message with validation of the conversion server.

The data record is provided to the user device. A selection of M attributes of the L attributes is received from the user device. M is less than L. A virtual record including the M attributes selected from the data record is generated. The virtual record includes a virtual ID (VID) for identifying the virtual record. The generated virtual record is stored in the database. The virtual ID token is provided to the user device. The virtual ID token includes the VID.

Attribute information providing method

A method, apparatus and system to ensure the security in the information exchange and to provide list matching with higher efficiency and practicality. In a particular embodiment, each of lists to be subject to list matching is represented as a polynomial having roots equivalent to the items of the list. Then, polynomials generated for the lists to be subject to list matching are added according to a distributed secret computation. A list containing an item equivalent to a root of a polynomial resulting from the addition is created and output as the list of a common item.

A method and system for providing access to information on an article to which a tag is coupled. A local server reads the tag containing a virtual ID that includes an encryption of a bit string. The bit string includes an article ID containing a manufacturer ID. The local server is coupled to an ONS server, an ONS proxy server, and a PML server via a network. The local server sends to the ONS proxy server an ONS service request that includes the virtual ID and requests a network address of the PML server. The local server receives, from the ONS server, the network address of the PML server. The local server sends to the PML server, at the network address of the PML server, a PML information request that includes the virtual ID and requests article information. The local server receives, from the PML server, the article information.

Information acquisition enabled/disabled inspection system

It is an object of the present invention to find out parts to be a highly possible cause of failure without searching all of part data of all of products. Dispersed parts data on a parts tree are sequentially accessed from a set of known failed products, and part attribute values each having a higher support in the faulty product are extracted. In this process, a subset of parts used in the faulty product is also obtained simultaneously. The part attribute values having higher supports and the subset of parts used in the faulty product are represented as a tree in which a parts type serves as a node. Next, an information gain of a rule that having the two part attribute values is a cause of failure is calculated on two part attribute values having higher supports on the tree of the parts type. This calculation is locally performed on a common parent part of two parts and parts having a certain information gain is outputted as a cause of failure. How to select these two part attributes is performed in such a way that part attributes located closer to each other on the tree are first evaluated, and first found part attributes are made a candidate of a cause of failure.
