According to the present embodiment, a DC transformation system includes a rectifier, a first power conversion device, a second power conversion device, and a control device. The rectifier rectifies AC power supplied from an AC power source and outputs a first DC voltage. The first power conversion device is connected in series to the rectifier and outputs a second DC voltage. The second power conversion device is connected in parallel to the rectifier and converts power supplied from the rectifier to supply the converted power to the first power conversion device. The control device controls the first power conversion device to cause an addition/subtraction voltage of the first DC voltage and the second DC voltage to be a predetermined voltage.

DC transformation system

A vehicle power conversion device includes a two-level converter, a three-level converter and one cooling device. The two-level converter includes a capacitor, first switching devices and second switching devices. The three-level converter includes two capacitors, third switching devices, fourth switching devices and a bidirectional switch. The first and second switching devices are embedded in first power modules, and the third and fourth switching devices are embedded in second power modules. The second power modules have dielectric strength voltages at least equal to a voltage applicable to any one of the two capacitors connected in series included in the three-level converter, and the first power modules have dielectric strength voltages at least equal to a sum of a voltage applicable to any one of the two capacitors connected in series included in the three-level converter and a voltage applicable to the capacitor included in the two-level converter.

Vehicle power conversion device

An electric railcar power feeding system in an embodiment includes a power storage device, a rectifier, and an emergency power supply. The power storage device is connected to a feeder line for an electric railcar. The rectifier converts alternating-current power of a first power system to direct-current power and supply the direct-current power for the feeder line. The emergency power supply supplies power of a second power system different from the first power system for the feeder line.

According to an embodiment, a power management apparatus is provided with storage means, discharge plan creation means, discharge instruction means. The storage means stores a discharge amount of a power storage device to a distribution system, correspondingly to a prescribed parameter. The discharge plan creation means, when storable regenerative power is generated, creates a discharge plan to determine a discharge amount of the power storage device, from past data stored in the storage means, of regenerative power amount of a train and the discharge amount of the power storage device to the distribution system. The discharge instruction means outputs a discharge instruction to the power storage device.

An embodiment of an electric vehicle drive apparatus includes a rotary electric motor, an electromagnet apparatus, an electric motor controller, and an electromagnet controller. The rotary electric motor drives at least one wheel. The electromagnet controller generates at least one of an attraction force between a rail and a bogie, and a propulsion force. The electromagnet controller controls the electromagnet apparatus. The rotary electric motor and the electromagnet apparatus are provided on the same bogie.

Frequent charging/discharging to an electric energy storage element is suppressed for energy saving and longer lifetime. A transmission-line-side power converter device converts power from a transmission line, and supplies DC power to a feeder line connected to an electric energy storage element. An output current controller connected with a line voltage detector detects the feeder line voltage, and a charging rate detector detects a charging rate of the electric energy storage element. A control table sets charging/discharging start voltages and current saturated voltages based on the detected line voltage and charging rate. The output current controller controls the electric energy storage element to discharge at a high line voltage as the charging rate increase, to suppress charging the electric energy storage element at the low line voltage, and makes discharging difficult at the low line voltage to facilitate charging at the low line voltage as the charging rate decreases.

A battery charging system includes a first battery unit for storing electric power to be supplied to a driving system of a train, and a second battery unit for storing electric power to be supplied to the first battery unit. A control unit calculates electric power consumption from the first battery unit. A control device for an electric motor car comprising: a switch which is installed between a power supply source and a power line drawn through the electric motor car; a battery which supplies power to a main motor of the electric motor car; a step-up unit, which is installed between the power line and the battery, configured to increase a voltage; and a control unit which breaks a connection between the power supply source and the power line using the switch when braking the electric motor car, increases the power supplied from the battery using the step-up unit, and performs regenerative braking in the main motor to which the increased power is supplied.
