According to one or more embodiments, when a predetermined time has passed after generation of an arc at least either between a movable contact and a fixed contact or between a movable contact and a fixed contact, an arc generated between the movable contact and the fixed contact is extended by a magnetic field generation unit to be longer than an arc generated between the movable contact and the fixed contact.

A contact mechanism has a base, a pair of fixed contact terminals provided side by side on the base, a first contact mechanism including a first fixed contact provided in one of the pair of fixed contact terminals, and a first movable contact that contactably and separably faces the first fixed contact, a second contact mechanism including a second fixed contact provided in another of the pair of fixed contact terminals, and a second movable contact that contactably and separably faces the second fixed contact, and a magnetic field generation unit having a permanent magnet disposed between the first contact mechanism and the second contact mechanism such that magnetic fields in opposite directions are generated respectively between contacts of the first contact mechanism and between contacts of the second contact mechanism when currents in opposite directions flow in the first contact mechanism and the second contact mechanism.

Contact mechanism and electromagnetic relay using the same

An electromagnetic relay includes a base, an electromagnetic block disposed on an upper surface of the base, a movable iron piece that rotates based on excitation/non-excitation of the electromagnetic block, a movable contact piece that rotates integrally with the movable iron piece, a movable contact fixed to a free end of the movable contact piece, a fixed contact disposed so as to come into or out of contact with the movable contact in association with rotation of the movable contact piece, and a magnetic field generation unit disposed so as to attract an arc generated between the movable contact and the fixed contact in a direction that, as seen from the fixed contact, is opposite to the movable contact and the base.

Provided is an electromagnetic relay that is reduced in size and has great flexibility in designing. For this purpose, when a predetermined time has passed after generation of an arc at least either between a movable contact and a fixed contact or between a movable contact and a fixed contact, an arc generated between the movable contact and the fixed contact is extended by a magnetic field generation unit to be longer than an arc generated between the movable contact and the fixed contact.

An electromagnetic relay including a contact switching unit having a pair of contacts. An electromagnet block drives the contact switching unit to open and close the contacts. An arc-extinguishing member includes a connection member and permanent magnets. The connection member is formed by connecting, via a middle part, opposing walls arranged in a direction perpendicular to the touch/separation direction of the contacts. Method and system for adjusting an electromagnetic relay

An electromagnetic relay has a solenoid formed from a wound coil, a movable iron core that is reciprocated upwardly and downwardly in an axial hole of the solenoid, and a movable contact point that reciprocates together with the movable iron core. The movable contact point is contacted and separated with and from a fixed contact point for opening and closing a contact point. An arc generated at a time of opening and closing of the contact point is flowed, in a predetermined direction, by the magnetic field of at least a single permanent magnet placed at a side of the fixed contact point and the movable contact point that are contacted and separated with and from each other. Coil terminals are connected to leader lines of the coil, at least at a single side of the flow of the arc.

An electromagnetic relay has a movable iron core, an insulation holder integrated with an upper end portion of the movable iron core, a movable contact piece supported by the insulation holder, and a solenoid formed from a wound coil. The movable iron core is housed in an axial hole in the solenoid movably in the upward and downward directions. The movable iron core is adapted to be moved upwardly and downwardly based on magnetization and demagnetization of the solenoid for contacting and separating a movable contact point provided on the movable contact piece with and from a fixed contact point for opening and closing a contact point. A permanent magnet is embedded in a base portion of the insulation holder.

The object of this invention is to provide a relay unit and a housing for that unit to be used when a number of relay switches are installed side by side in a circuit to switch a power supply circuit on and off. A number of compartments are provided in a case with an open top such that one relay fits into each compartment. The relays are placed into these compartments, and a cover is fitted onto the open top of the case. Slits are provided along the upper edge of the case and/or in the cover, through which the connectors attached to the terminals of the various relays can pass. The cover is placed on top of the case with the connectors attached to the terminals of the various relays running through the various slits. With this invention, a number of relay switches are put into a single package (housing), thus making the relays easier to handle. The package makes it easier to mount and wire multiple relay switches. Because the positions of the connectors are controlled by the slits in the case, the connectors cannot rotate if they receive an accidental impact. This prevents accidental short circuits.

Structure of spool of electromagnetic relay

In an electromagnetic relay in which a contact mechanism 50 provided on a base 10 is driven by a card 60 which slides and moves in parallel to the axis of an electromagnet block 20 provided in the base 10 as the electromagnet block 20 is magnetized and demagnetized, the base 10 comprises a guide portion 17 for restricting the card 60 in its position. This prevents variations in the performance characteristics so that high productivity and long service life of contacts can be obtained.

Closed type electromagnetic relay

An electromagnetic relay of the present invention has a large dielectric strength between a coil and each contact because of an insulative member interposed therebetween. Even if the straight distance between the coil and each contact is small, it is possible to obtain a sufficient dielectric strength without an extra process. Moreover, since a leg part of the coil terminal is coated with an insulative resin, the dielectric strength between the coil terminal and a movable iron element or a movable contact piece is enhanced. An insertion window formed in an insulating plate of the coil helps to insert a thickness gauge with high positioning accuracy.
