An ignition coil capable of maintaining reliable insulation performance over a long period of time. A coil main body unit, for housing a primary coil, a secondary coil and a switching element, includes a case main body in which a housing space is provided, and a case lower portion which abuts the perimeter of the case main body. The primary coil and the secondary coil, which are placed in the case lower portion, are covered by the case main body. The secondary coil is configured by winding a second winding around a secondary bobbin, through which a central hole is extended in the horizontal direction, and the outer periphery of the same is covered by the case lower portion and a protective cap and is filled with a first material. When the primary coil is placed in the central hole, the remaining gap is filled with a secondary material.

Ignition coil realizing a closed magnetic circuit and higher efficiency

A gear position detecting apparatus includes three magnets fixed to a transmission housing for generating magnetism and three hole elements fixed to the transmission housing for detecting magnetism generated from the magnets. A magnetism shielding plate is provided between the magnets and the hall elements. The magnetism shielding plate is slidably and rotatably movable according to a shift pattern of a shift lever and has a plurality of holes and a cut-out portion. The magnetism generated from the magnets is permitted or forbidden to pass through these holes or the cut-out portion according to the movement of the magnetism shielding plate which is moved by the shift lever. The hall elements output an ON-signal when the magnetism is permitted to pass through and an OFF-signal when the magnetism is forbidden to pass through. As a result, a plurality of combinations of binary signals are produced corresponding to gear positions.

Apparatus for detecting gear positions of automobile transmission

A rotational position detecting apparatus for an internal-combustion engine for use with a Hall IC comprising at least two Hall elements for detecting the protrusion of a rotator. One of the two Hall elements is arranged with a magnet for forming a magnetic field, and the magnet is disposed on one side of the Hall IC to form a magnetic circuit for converging the magnetic flux on only one element within the Hall IC.
