The present invention relates to a cosmetic composition containing the following Components (A), (B), and (C): Component (A): a hydrophobic polymer which dissolves in ethanol at 25° C. in an amount of 1% by mass or more, and has a glass transition temperature Tg of 30° C. or higher, the polymer having the same electric charge as the following Component (B), or not having an electric charge; Component (B): a hydrophilic ionic polymer which dissolves in ethanol at 25° C. in an amount of 1% by mass or more; and Component (C): an ionic polymer which dissolves in ethanol at 25° C. in an amount of 1% by mass or more, the ionic polymer having a different kind of an electric charge to that of the Component (B). The cosmetic composition of the present invention can be suitably used in cosmetics for hair.

Cosmetic composition

The present invention relates to a cosmetic composition containing the following Components (A) and (B): Component (A): a hydrophobic polymer which has a glass transition temperature Tg of 30° C. or higher, the polymer having a different kind of an electric charge to the following Component (B), or not having an electric charge; and Component (B): a hydrophilic ionic polymer. The cosmetic composition of the present invention can be suitably used in cosmetics for hair.

The present invention relates to [1] a process for producing a pigment composition, including the step of subjecting a raw material pigment composition containing PY74 and a specific by-product to a treatment with an oxidizing agent, in which a content of the specific by-product in the pigment composition after the treatment on the basis of a content of PY74 in the pigment composition after the treatment is not more than 1,200 mg/kg; [2] a process for producing a pigment composition, including the step of subjecting a raw material pigment composition containing PY74, a specific by-product and water to a treatment with hydrogen peroxide; [3] a method of reducing a content of a specific by-product in a raw material pigment composition containing PY74 and the specific by-product, said method including the step of subjecting the raw material pigment composition to a treatment with an oxidizing agent; and [4] a method of preventing an ink for ink-jet printing from suffering from ejection defects, including the step of compounding the pigment composition produced by any of the aforementioned processes in the ink for ink-jet printing.

Pigment composition production method

The present invention relates to an ink-jet printing method using a water-based ink containing a rutile-type titanium oxide and a polymer dispersant, in which the polymer dispersant contains a constitutional unit derived from an anionic group-containing monomer selected from the group consisting of acrylic acid, methacrylic acid and the like in an amount of not less than 72% by mass; Mw of the polymer dispersant is from 3,000 to 50,000; and a content of the polymer dispersant in the water-based ink is from 1 to 7% by mass on the basis of the titanium oxide, said method including the step 1 of redispersing the water-based ink by a dispersing means and the step 2 of printing characters or images on a printing medium using the redispersed water-based ink. According to the ink-jet printing method of the present invention, even though the titanium oxide is precipitated, it is possible to readily redisperse the titanium oxide in the water-based ink by simple stirring operations, and further by using the water-based ink whose properties can be rapidly restored owing to excellent foam suppressing properties and defoaming properties thereof, it is possible to attain good ejection properties of the ink.

Inkjet recording method

The present invention relates to [1] a water-based ink for ink-jet printing containing titanium oxide (A) and a pigment dispersant (B), in which the pigment dispersant (B) contains a constitutional unit derived from an anionic group-containing monomer (a) and a constitutional unit derived from a polyalkylene glycol (meth)acrylate (b); an average molar number of addition of an alkyleneoxide in the polyalkylene glycol (meth)acrylate (b) is from 15 to 100; an acid value of the pigment dispersant (B) is from 100 to 400 mgKOH/g; and a content of the pigment dispersant (B) in the water-based ink is from 0.3 to 18 parts by mass on the basis of 100 parts by mass of the titanium oxide (A), and [2] an ink-jet printing method of ejecting the water-based ink described in the above item [1] onto a printing medium using an ink-jet printing apparatus to print characters or images on the printing medium. According to the present invention, there are provided a water-based ink for ink-jet printing which contains titanium oxide as a pigment, and is excellent in redispersibility, and an ink-jet printing method.

Water-based ink for ink-jet recording

The present invention relates to (1) a water-based ink for ink-jet printing having excellent storage stability and anti-curling property which includes particles of a crosslinked water-insoluble polymer containing a colorant wherein a content of water in the ink is 60% by weight or less, and the crosslinked polymer contains an anionic group neutralized with a base in an amount of from 0.5 mmol or more per 1 g of the crosslinked polymer; (2) a process for producing the water-based ink; and (3) a method of reducing curling of a print wherein the print is obtained by printing characters or images thereon with the water-based ink using an ink-jet printer.

Aqueous ink for inkjet recording

The present invention provides [1] a water dispersion for ink-jet printing containing chain-like particles each containing anionic organic pigment particles and a cationic polymer, wherein the ratio of organic pigment primary particles forming the chain-like particles to all the pigment primary particles contained in the water dispersion is 10% by number or more; [2] a water-based ink for ink-jet printing containing the water dispersion; [3] a method for producing a water dispersion for ink-jet printing as described above in [1]; and [4] a water-based ink for ink-jet printing containing a water dispersion produced through the method. The water dispersion and water-based ink for ink-jet printing of the present invention realize excellent optical density.

An aqueous dispersion of polymer particles of a water-insoluble vinyl polymer containing a hydrophobic dye, wherein the water-insoluble vinyl polymer is prepared by polymerizing a monomer composition comprising an alicyclic (meth)acrylate, a salt-forming group-containing monomer, and a monomer copolymerizable with the alicyclic (meth)acrylate and the salt-forming group-containing monomer; and an ink comprising the aqueous dispersion. The aqueous dispersion is excellent in, for instance, storage stability, and the ink is excellent in, for instance, printing reliability, solvent resistance, water resistance and character quality.
