A hydraulically operable transmission comprises a hydraulic clutch, a change speed control valve, change speed actuators controllable by the control valve, a pilot oil line for varying pressure states in response to operation of the actuators, an oil supply line extending to the hydraulic clutch, a clutch control valve operable with a pilot pressure applied from the pilot oil line to close the oil supply line, and a pressure buildup device mounted on the oil supply line. The pressure buildup device includes an oil chamber for producing predetermined pressure increase characteristics with a pilot pressure applied from the oil supply line and a spring load, a drain line extending from the oil chamber, and a drain control valve mounted on the drain line for opening and closing the drain line in response to the pilot pressure applied from the pilot oil line.

A filter cloth oscillating apparatus for a filter press wherein the filter cloth generally suspended over springs from a filter cloth hanging rod extending laterally perpendicular to the direction in which filter plates are opened to oscillate the rod and cloth to shake off and filter cake adhering thereto has a drive unit and crank mechanism mounted on a moving bed for moving the upper portion of a filter press horizontally, an oscillating head and actuator therefor, and by means of a plurality of guide members for oscillating the head vertically as well as horizontally. The oscillating head is lowered and raised pneumatically so that in the covered position it can engage with and oscillate the filter cloth hanging rod.

An engine has a load detector, or more specifically a threshold load comparator, and also detectors for sensing any abnormality of various factors influencing the normal engine operation. When no abnormality is sensed, the engine is made to operate automatically at a low speed level when the engine load is below the threshold value, and at a high speed level when the load is beyond such value. When any abnormality is sensed, then the engine is emergently halted in a fail-safe manner, thus any damaging disorder in controling circuitry for effecting such emergent halting leads in itself to emergent halting of the engine as well.

The device includes a pair of first and second plate members formed with first and second through-holes, respectively, and a plurality of first and second fastening members by which the first and second filter cloths are, respectively, secured to the first and second plate members.

A squeeze-filter plate for use in such a filter press as to squeeze a cake of solid substances which is built up within a filtration room defined between the squeeze-filter plate and a filter plate adjacent thereto. The squeeze-filter plate is composed of a diaphragm means having a central portion and an outer peripheral portion, and a frame for supporting the diaphragm means. The outer peripheral portion has at least one structure for discharge a filtered liquid from the surface of the diaphragm to a passage in the frame. This structure is constituted by at least one aperture defined in the outer peripheral portion having a solid plug portion positioned therein and at least one socket member housed in the aperture for defining at least two discharge passages each of which guides a filtered liquid from one of the surfaces of the central portion to the passage in the frame without clogging occurring therein.

A reinforcing patch plate comprises a boss portion adapted to be fitted in a liquid passage hole, such as one for filtrate or wash liquor, which is open to a filter surface of a filter-surfaced expressing sheet, a liquid guiding flange portion integrally formed on one end of the boss portion to cover the portion of the expressing sheet around the liquid passage hole, and a core embedded therein to serve as an intermediate layer. The liquid guiding flange is provided on its face with liquid guiding outlet grooves which establish communication between the boss portion and the filtrate grooves of the filter surface of the expressing sheet. The liquid guide grooves are each defined between adjacent ridges arranged side by side on the flange portion and removably attached to the latter.

A filter press having a plurality of filter plates so supported between fixed and movable heads of the machine framework that the filter plates can selectively be separated from each other and compressed together to a substantially watertight closure between the fixed and movable heads. A filter medium is provided for each filter plate and is composed of a pair of filter webs covering respectively the opposed filtering surfaces of the filter plate. The filter webs are connected at their one end to a winding device and at their other end to a tensioning and winding roll assembly after having turned around a pair of juxtaposed guide rolls. Each tensioning and winding roll assembly is composed of a cylindrical roll and a biasing element for biasing the cylindrical roll in one direction with the filter webs forced to be wound therearound.
