An improved optical module mounted body is disclosed. The optical module mounted body comprising: a mounting board having a mounting surface with a plurality of holes formed thereon; an optical module placed on the mounting surface; and a securing member configured to secure the optical module, the securing member including an upper portion, a plurality of legs extending from the upper portion and a plurality of engagement portions formed at ends of the plurality of legs, wherein the optical module is held between the mounting board and the securing member such that the upper portion of the securing member abuts on an upper surface of the optical module, and wherein the plurality of legs are inserted in the plurality of holes, the plurality of engagement portion engaging with the mounting board.

Optical module mounted body and securing method of optical module

A semiconductor laser module having a package containing a semiconductor laser device and lead pins provided on both the side surfaces of the package . Since a base end portion of the lead pin is fixed to the side surface at a position higher than the bottom surface of the package , the lead pin can be laterally bent at a position higher than the bottom surface. Therefore, the semiconductor laser module can be mounted on the surface of the wiring board while the bottom surface of the package is in close contact with the wiring board . Thus, since a heat radiation path from the bottom surface of the package to the wiring board is secured, it is possible to reduce the instability in the operating characteristic of the semiconductor laser device due to the thermal effect.

Optical module

A receptacle module comprises an optical module having a photoelectric converting capability and a receptacle to be used for connecting the optical module to an optical connector. The receptacle has a positioning portion for positioning the optical module and an engagement portion for detachably holding the optical module by engagement.
